Anyone had a reaction to Astral moisturiser?

I started using this cream before the summer I think. During the summer I started getting spots and sore patches on my skin. For more than a month now under my eyes are red and sore. Is this from the cream? I'm obviously going to stop using it now, but it's taken this long for it to twig as the reaction wasn't immediate. I also saw this cream as a basic simple moisturiser. I've always had great skin so I don't have any knowledge of ingredients to look out for. Can anyone please advise?

I can use this cream at all it's too heavy and highly perfumed, I'm actually surprised at the amount of people who swear by it tbh. My mum also had a really bad reaction to this cream years ago.

Yes I had the same but I have really sensitive skin. I.have since found the only thing I can use as a cleanser and moisturiser is baby oil. I put some on.my face and wipe off with a hot flannel. It removes waterproof mascara brilliantly and all spots have gone. My skin has never looked better and it's so cheap.

I haven't had a reaction per se but I find it irritates my skin a bit. I have rosacea anyway, so don't do well with very oily products. My mum swore by it and she really did look fantastic for her age. She had a totally different skin type to me though.

I actually am fine with perfumed moisturisers, as long as they are fairly light. I use Nivea soft everyday and don't react to it at all, despite it being perfumed and cheap! I love it. I know others don't though.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I read all the hype of this great, cheap cream. It's too heavy for me but it was good for my wrinkles. I used to use boots essentials fragrance free but felt it wasn't cutting it anymore on my aging skin. Used it from the age of 12. I guess I'll be going back to that!

I do not get on with peanut oil which is sometimes listed as arachis.

I used it for a few months (used to borrow my mum's when I was a teenager and had amazing skin - obviously!). Found it too heavy, seemed to sit on top of my skin all day. Then I got the under-skin itchy spots and redness around the nose/chin/between the eyebrows which turned out to seborrheic dermatitis. Took months to clear and I still can't wear foundation regularly, and can only use Moogoo Scalp Cream as a daily moisturiser, otherwise it starts to come back.

Really interesting. Fingers crossed it is the cream and it will clear. Of course the irony is the sorer my skin, the more I'm slathering it on!

Yes, it brought me out in spots & I don't have particularly sensitive skin. Luckily, my skin recovered quite quickly but it was a horrible 6-9mths.

If you've had a reaction and your skin is sore maybe try Aveeno. It's really lovely and soothing. I used it when the doctor prescribed it for my super sore skin.

If you want a good day cream, Olay Total Effects do a Fragrance Free one which is brilliant and anti aging (in as much as any cream can be). Cheapest place to buy is Savers, but Boots etc often have it on offer.

I can't use it either - just looking at a pot makes my face itch. And yet old school, blue pot Nivea, despite smelling like a perfume distillery, is one of the few creams I trust. Skin sensitivity is very strange.

Just Google astral and seborrheic dermatitis and this post came up. I started using astral 6 months ago and now have it in my eyebrows and round my nose it's vile. Again my mum swears but it and has used it for probably 40 years which is the reason I tried it plus the fact I'm poor atm!
