Ear piercing, with needle, in London for a 12 year old

Does anyone know of any local authorities that permit this? I've tried a few places in Westminster and Camden and they all say not for under 16s. DD is keen to have her ears pierced and I'm at least as keen to get them done properly with a needle. I'm happy to travel (within reason) outside London as well.

Alternatively and as a last resort, would anyone recommend Harrods or Selfridges if we do go for the gun? Or anywhere else?

Why don't you look at a proper piercing place? There are someTattoo/Piercing shops in my London borough that will do kids under 16 with a consent format and adult present. Try ones local to you, there are licensed and have high standards of hygiene.

form - not format

I really struggled to find anywhere that would pierce my twelve year old with a needle. Like you every where I tried said over 16. This wasn't in London though but in a big city. In the end we went for a gun but in a tattoo/piercing place as I figured that at least they would know what they were doing! It went fine and she's had no problems with them.

You'll need to name the borough where it is permitted, Silverstreaks.

The conditions of the required special licence for Westminster and Wandsworth both forbid any piercing of under-16s other than earlobe by gun. I think Lambeth is the same. So that's 3 areas where it can't happen, and the repeated refusals OP has encountered suggests that Camden/Islington is the same.

The piercing parlour that used to be in Selfridges is Metal Morphosis and it has moved to the very bottom floor of Top Shop, Oxford Circus.

They do it by a hand-pressure cartridge system. Proper piercing place, good aftercare advice.

Harrods is gun, but don't know if it's hand-pressure or spring.

Hello,
Try Shiva in Greenwich. It's just by the dlr station / catty sark.
Had my dds done there, she was 9 and there were no problems.

I had mine done in Harrods when I was 11 with a gun. It was fun.

I got all worried and took my three to a proper fucking expensive piercing place thinking it was better.
Firstly the needle takes longer so it hurts more, secondly it's fucking expensive, thirdly I couldn't see any difference. My youngest was 10 at the time, wouldn't let them do the second ear after the first. We ended up at the local chemist paid £10 got the ear done with the gun, happy days

Yes, am definitely after a proper piercing studio but lots aren't able to pierce under 16s. Which seems crazy given the needle seems a demonstrably better way of doing it!

Is a hand pressure gun a better option than the spring? Will definitely check out Shiva and the Top Shop place, thanks!

I think Extreme Ink near Leicester Square will do it. Overheard two colleagues talking about it.
