Red nose

I have always been a bit self-conscious about redness on my nose and chin. I've tried cosmetic colour correction creams and some ' anti redness' moisturisers etc like River in but I don't think they do much.

This morning I am compelled to ask if any knows anything I can try. Why? My little daughter has informed me that I look like a cute little mouse with my little red nose. Too much!

Kalme do a really good product called Chameleon Concealer. It goes on bright green but then changes to yellow as you blend it in. It also treats the causes of redness aswell. I bought it after trying loads of other products and I will definitely buy it again when it runs out.

Thanks for the suggestion. Where do you buy yours from, please? I'm in Spain and I've checked Feel Unique and Amazon.

I should add that I do wear factor 50 sunscreen daily.

Is it rosacea? There are a few threads on here about that.
I'm on a prescription cream called Finacea (azelaic acid).

I don't think so. There are no bumps. I'm very fair skinned.

I bought mine from Victoria Health online, Skin Shop also stock it I think.

Does anyone know what ingredients have an effect in alleviating redness si I can look out for them.

Since I started regularly drinking a glass (or two) with my dinner each evening I've noticed more redness in my chin/nose areas.
Following this thread.

I don't really drink. I do flush horribly if I drink though.

Thanks for the mac suggestion too. I'll look it up.

There's no where in my town that sells Mac so I am not able to try it.

Are there any more suggestions?

I use a Lily lolo powder called 'blush away' for redness. It is green but blends in ok once you put foundation powder on top.

You don't need to have bumps to have rosacea. If you flush when you drink and have a red nose, probably it is rosacea. Does anything else make you flush- tomatoes, spices and heat are all possible triggers.

I use Darphin products to help, but I know lots of people recommend La Roche Posay. Use very gentle products- I use emollient cream to wash instead of soap- and never scrub your skin.

There is a really good facebook group whic has lots of ideas- check you are using the one in your chosen language as there are variants in a few different languages!

I shall be rushing to the bathroom to check my flushing! I don't really know if anything else does it.

I haven't had much luck with LRP products for some reason. I have sensitive skin and they seemed to give me spots. I shall have a look at Darphin, although it sounds expensive!

I don't use hot water to wash and use CeRave products which are formulated for sensitive skin. I have got on top of most of my skin niggles by doing this, but apart from my little red nosey! (sorry, I still haven't got over it).

Was just coming on to say it sounds like it could possibly be rosacea! I have it. I get a really red nose if I drink certain things. I also have to avoid too much spicy food, heat around my face, caffeine and very intense exercise as it makes me flare up. Do you have a dermatologist you could see? Mine was really helpful and confirmed it was rosacea within minutes.

Following this. The bridge and top of my nose are always red-ish, it looks like I've caught the sun across my nose. I wear SPF 30 every day and it's the same in midwinter or when I've not set foot outside. No bumps here either so I'd assumed it couldn't be rosacea. Very interesting.

Goodness, I thought I just had sensitive skin but you've just described my symptoms as rosacea! Off to ask Dr Google. I've barely heard of rosacea.

I've just moved country and the thought of finding a dermatologist is beyond me at the moment.
