I'm a size 18/20. Broad back weightlifter arms and large chest.

I feel like a heffleump!

My school are having an anniversary ball in November and I have to go. Can you fashion gurus please please please help me with dress suggestions please.

My redeeming feature is possibly legs??

Seriously considering a Burkha at this point.

What type of ball will it be? Can you wear midi length or does it have to be full length? And what is your budget?

I'd say it will be a diverse crowd. So anything goes really. Budget is low. About £200 max for a dress.

I like the first of those better than the second, prefer the original black one though. Looks like it'd give bra problems which is a PITA.

this?

How about something like this? I'm a similar size and had this for an occasion earlier in the year - had loads of compliments!

This is a fab dress, it'd be grate with some striking shoes. These, as a random example.
