Antique rings in London

Hi. I'm on the hunt for an engagement ring. I live in London and have started to look here (tiffanys, burlington arcade, greys antiques and next week Hatton garden). I was wondering if anyone knew of any little antique shops more off the beaten track I could look at? It's a bit overwhelming going to the larger areas with a 5 month old in tow! Thanks Amy

Hmm. How much do you want to spend?

A friend bought her ring at an auction - only thing is, I can't imagine going to an auction with a baby.

May - I got my engagement ring from here: http://www.antiquejewellerycompany.com/our-world/about-us/

They are based at Gray's so not especially off the beaten track, but I can recommend them! They have most of their stock online so you can narrow down what you're interested in, then go and look at a few in person. Might be a bit easier with a baby.

Good luck with the search Flowers

I would massively recommend buying at auction. You'll find typical single stone modern cut diamonds at a fraction of the shop price. Or you'll find a beautiful unique ring that you'll just fall in love with!
Bonhams in Knightsbridge have monthly jewellery auctions and, having bought there, I couldn't recommend them enough for help!

How about a day trip to Brighton? That's where we went engagement ring shopping when we lived in London, I got a beautiful antique ring in the Laines.

There is a fantastic jewellers in Guildford which sell amazing secondhand/antique rings. www.cftm.co.uk

Highly recommended!

I second Glastokitty, if you are able to get to Brighton there are a plethora of antique and new jewellery places in the Lanes - DH and I made a special trip and got our wedding rings made to order. Bit narrow for a big buggy though, okay with a foldable type stroller.
