Non-mumsy low heels?

misscph1973 · 11/10/2016 12:05

I can't wear high heels, I look like Bambi on ice, it's not a pretty sight. So I am looking for lower heels that are not too mumsy. Any advice? Ballerina flats will not work, I have a few, and they are not good with many of the skirts/dresses I have.

Would you consider these or are you looking for more of a block heel for stability? I wear these in nude or black pretty much every day to work and find them very comfy and I am on my feet most of the day. They also don’t break the bank!

Oh, they are nice, thank you, NannyW, but yes, I am probably looking for a block heel for stability ;)

Hm, I don't actually get on very well with M&S shoes ;) Such a shame, as my MIL works in an M&S and she is happy to pass on her discount.

I like these:

but I worry they are far too high for me!

How about these, as a brand rather than a specific shoe? www.mandarinashoes.co.uk/

Queenbean · 11/10/2016 20:32

Buy any M&S shoes, the insolia is truly magical

They do a pair of mid high courts for £20 which are excellent, really comfy

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/10/2016 20:40

These?

Personally, I know block heels are in but I hate them. They remind me of the shoes I used to wear in the 90s. I like a Cuban heel, like these although they are boots so probably not for you if you specifically want shoes.

Can you be a bit more specific? Colour? Material? Price range? Occasion?

tigerdriverII · 11/10/2016 20:42

Brogues are your friend.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/10/2016 20:44

How about these? I have similar from Office (mine are flatter) and they are fab, so comfy and smart with trousers or skirts.

They've got shedloads on the Office website.

FeliciaJollygoodfellow · 11/10/2016 21:11

OP come back! I want to look for shoes for you!

WhatamessIgotinto · 11/10/2016 22:24

I know lots of people hate them but what about kitten heels?

WhatamessIgotinto · 11/10/2016 22:27

Any good?

Sorry for the silence!

Odins, absolutely LOVE all the Mandarina shoes, thank you, but my budget will only allow me to look at the sale items ;)

Felicia, I quite like the Dune shoes, but like yourself, too blocky, and it's the '90es all over again.

I'm looking for shoes to wear out to dinner etc. and I quite like Ecco and Clarks. And recently I must admit to liking Hotter (!).

Felicia, I love that you want to look for shoes for me! Not too sure about the festival shoes, normally I would never go for that style, but maybe I need to get out of my comfort zone. They are definitely not mumsy ;)

What, I think they are too spikey for me, I have no balance, and I'm quite likely to trip. Besides, I live in the country, and although I wouldn't wear heels in the mud, I seem to always get into mud even when I go out ;)

I have really tricky painful feet .. I bought some lovely grey heels from Tesco recently . They come in grey , blue and black and aren't too high although not block heel . Also m and s insolia are good for my feet . I'll try and get the links

www.tesco.com/direct/ff-mid-heel-court-shoes/347-2193.prd also in red by the looks of it

imjessie · 12/10/2016 13:00

How about something like these ? The strap helps I find .

misscph1973 · 12/10/2016 13:29

imjessie, they are not bad, I actually really like the M&S ones, lovely colour. Might ask my MIL to get them for me with her discount, or at least go an try them on, I will be near an M&S Friday.

Grin

Hotter have some gems, they can look nice in a vintage/retro sort of way.

imjessie · 12/10/2016 15:30

There are quite a few similar on the site .. maybe order few to try ?
