What top with this skirt?

Got a wedding in November and have got this skirt to wear as wanted something a bit different from a dress. What top do I get to go with it? Was thinking maybe long sleeved? Or a bodysuit of some sort?
And also what sort of coverup? Pashminas are a no no on here so would like other ideas. Thanks. Smile

Very I terested to see the answers as I also have a wedding to attend and have looked at this skirt and similar, and have held off buying until I know what top to buy.
So far, no luck

I've got a few of these style skirts and I like wearing them with tight fitting Bardot style tops.

Why is a pashmina a no-no? I'd wear it with a plain black vest type top and then a more glitzy bolero or beaded pashmina and fabulous heels.
It's a lovely skirt and I'd imagine very flattering

Love the vest top and jazzy bolero idea.... a few fabulous accessories

Cathaka15 · 10/10/2016 20:02

Yes. Bardot top.

creamcheeseandlox · 10/10/2016 20:06

Not sure myself if a I want a pashmina. Was thinking something like this bolero.

Doesn't fix what top problem though. Hmm

I have one of those skirts and I wear it with a cropped boxy top. A Bardot top would work too.
Definitely no to a pashmina, or vest and bolero.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 11/10/2016 08:13

A cropped boxy top only works if you have the figure for a cropped boxy top though.
It's quite high waisted so a slim line vest will be very slimming and the wide waist band will also accentuate the waist.
I like the black bolero you have posted there op, the White is a bit too Christmassy imo

creamcheeseandlox · 11/10/2016 08:53

I'm not sure if I will feel comfy in a cropped top even though I think they do look nice. I'm 36 and a 10-12 but still not sure. I also saw pics of a 3/4 or full length sleeve plain bodysuit with a scoop neck or a cold shoulder bodysuit. Something cosy (as being November) but still classy that I can jazz up with jewellery and a bright lippie etc and a bolero. I'm shopping on Friday so I'll have a look.

You see, I think a boxy top is actually more flattering than a vest - and when I say "cropped", you won't actually show any flesh (if you don't want to!) as the skirt is high wasted.
Whereas in a fitted vest you show every lump and bump.

This is the sort of thing I mean (the fit, not the pattern). Coast have some absolutely beautiful tops in this cut, but they're pricey. (I have a few, all from topshop!)

This Coast outfit is another example of the sort of thing I mean. I love love love this top.

Yes I like that look. I'll have to have a look out for tops like that. Thanks.

I'd go for a slim-fitted tucked in top, and then a really amazing faux fur shrug/cape type thing over it.

BoneAppleTea · 11/10/2016 09:58

I'd go for a fitted Bardot/boat neck top like this.

Possibly in red.
