I like pockets. Pockets in dresses are awesome!

Can you find me some?
I'm 5 foot 2 size 10 with little legs and a fairly relaxed style - I work from home so don't need to dress up much. And I'm never in heels.

Can you find me a dress with pockets?

Thanks! 😊🍷

I live in dresses with pockets and sleeves, and I avoid empire line too as it makes me look squat and pregnant. Uniqlo are good if you're the right shape (mine from there have horizontal stripes), East (I have a nice plain blue one from there), I have a tunic sort of one one from Mistral, and another from Sandwich - that one is pale grey and has a waist.

On modcloth you can actually filter on 'dresses with pockets' www.modcloth.com

The postage isn't too expensive but as it's an American site the customs charges are added on delivery. They have a massive choice of lovely dresses though.

PiazzaDelPoppolo · 10/10/2016 17:52

Sorry - not filter - but you can search 'dresses with pockets' to see them all on their site

I would wear more dresses if they had pockets, I've got some long tunic tops with pockets from Mantaray in debenhams, but they're not really long enough to wear as a dress iyswim?
Sorry, was just place marking ;)

Toast (though £££)
Cos (though a bit sacky)
high pocket count

Losgunna · 10/10/2016 18:22

I have a pinafore dress from new look with nice big pockets, Joe Brown's do a few too (but I'd only really pay sale prices it's a bit steep for the quality otherwise really).

Primark have a surpring number of dresses/skirts with pockets but they never last more than a season really.

Have you had a look at dressmakers? They can be surprisingly inexpensive and you get precisely what you want

Great thread Squirrel.

This is my fave dress at the moment, it looks like a sack, but is so comfortable, and I have had compliments Wink

Braintree. Fab jersey denim dress with pockets. Or if you sew, Colette's Moneta is really easy, and fits brilliantly. Jersey, no zips, pulls on and has pockets. And lots of variations. Result!

Squirrelfruitandnutkin · 10/10/2016 19:17

Hooch - I'd love to look good in that dress - but that style just doesn't work on me.

I'm definitely going to get myself a cord pinafore. 😄

But I really want a stripey dress with pockets, and sleeves and some sort of waist (not an empire one). And for £40 or under.

White stuff looks ok but I don't think they're really worth £50 (had some questionable quality stuff from there)

I've got 2 stripey with pockets
One is white stuff but was bought in the sale for £30 and the other is a lovely Jersey debenhams which I found in a charity shop
I love pickets
I have my eye on a Braintree for this winter
I can't link to it as I'm on my phone

knitknack · 10/10/2016 19:30

It's quite easy to put pockets into dresses if they're of fairly simple construction (no lining etc) and you can thread a needle....

DatsunCogs · 10/10/2016 19:32

I have a nice dress with pockets from M & S, jersey, navy blue, quite tasteful

Squirrelfruitandnutkin · 10/10/2016 19:52

Knitknack - I could probably do it myself. It's just finding the time for these things totally ignoring the amount of time I'm currently faffing on the internet

Hmm maybe - need to see it in the flesh tho as need to make sure it's not thin enough to be see through

I have loads of Gap dresses with pockets in. Love them for school.

User543212345 · 10/10/2016 21:48

I have this cord pinafore in burgundy and dark grey and pretty much live in them at the moment and my blue one from Sainsbos they're so comfortable and I curse the Sainsburys designers for not putting pockets on their ones.

Pigeonpost · 10/10/2016 21:54

Boden have several. One of my favourite dresses is a jersey Boden one with big polka dots and pockets. Dresses with pockets are fab.

Squirrelfruitandnutkin · 13/10/2016 20:27

I've just ordered some pocket dresses from the sale in white stuff 😄 Kimmy, stripe denim and canvas jersey dresses.
Really hope the fit is good!

I have a dress from a Hobbs outlet with pockets. It's ace. BUT I can't find it online ... sorry!

It's got a blue long sleeve tight body with a wraparound bow thing, and a flowing skirt with a white and navy pattern.

Not sure if that style works if you're 5'2.

Onjenu do amazing dresses with pockets - the Sydney style, and possibly other styles too. I bought a Sydney 2 years ago - it's wearing really well, is washable & flattering and emerges from a suitcase without any creases:
