The thing with a winter coat is that you should think of the cost in terms of cost per wear. So if you wear it every day twice a day on your commute for two or three years, it's not an expensive purchase.
That said, I do think Ted Baker is overpriced. They are doing 30% off on selected items with the selection changing regularly, so worth checking their website regularly. I got a top I liked with 30% off; had to have a look every day for a week. I wouldn't have paid full price.
