Will I look like my 6 year old?
I'm 5'6 and size 10 if it helps. Got my eye on an embroidered black cord one in Dorothy Perkins.

Do you have to be young and fashion forward? I love the look of them but not sure if they're for me.

I hope so! I'm 36 and just bought one this week from oasis!

CJCreggsGoldfish · 09/10/2016 13:33

I'm soon to be 35 and do. All the teenagers around here are wearing crop tops, it's the 30 somethings wearing pinafores (and dungarees).

Abby21 · 09/10/2016 13:41

I my thirties and wearing one today!!!!

IrenetheQuaint · 09/10/2016 13:43

I think they look fine, though personally I can't wear pinafores as I still haven't got over my mother making me wear them when I was 9 in the late 1980s and they were terminally uncool Blush

JamieVardysParty · 09/10/2016 13:44

I've not actually seen anyone under 30 wearing them this time round. So go for it.

Maudlinmaud · 09/10/2016 13:48

Bought a navy cord one yesterday. Im going to wear it with a buttoned up blouse.

SheStoodInTheStorm · 09/10/2016 13:52

Yes! Love them.

I keep trying them on but have come to the conclusion that I am too fat for a pinafore.

IHaveBrilloHair · 09/10/2016 13:54

I'm 38 and wear them.

eurochick · 09/10/2016 14:00

Not too old. Im quite tempted at 40.

I think it is fair to say they work for all ages. My 2 year old looks cute in one. Last time we went out, we heard a voice behind us say "aw look at that cute little girl. She's wearing the same dress as you". I turned round expecting to see another little girl but found an older teenage/early 20s woman with her mum looking slightly mortified. Grin She was though - a denim pinafore.

OhFuckOff · 09/10/2016 14:19

I have a black cord one (which I'm yet to wear) I'm 31. I'm yet to see anyone wearing one where I live (tiny town in Pembrokeshire where the fashion seems to be leggings as trousers).

DoYouRememberJustinBobby · 09/10/2016 14:21

I'm early thirties and have 3. They are so easy and comfy but look great. Go for it.

DoloresVanCartier · 09/10/2016 14:49

I'm 41 and I wear pinafores Grin wear what you feel good in, not what society dictates you should wear .

OSETmum · 09/10/2016 17:36

I'm 30 and also a size 10 and I have one to wear for work.

ijustwannadance · 09/10/2016 17:46

I bought one from DP's last week. Was a bit worried i'd look like a kids tv presenter but looked great with thick tights and biker boots. I'm 38.

Mrsmaudwatts · 09/10/2016 18:09

Hourglass shaped with boobs, can I wear one?

FishSauce555 · 09/10/2016 18:10

Well I'm under 30 and love them.. If it's the one with the embroidered rose I'm tempted too!

Botanicbaby · 09/10/2016 19:37

I love pinafores and I'm in my mid-forties so would definitely get one regardless of age…however, they don't suit me as I have boobs bulging out of the sides Sad

sorry PP I don't think they suit if boobs are large ish and protude from sides. Do love them though and really wish I could wear one.

OhFuckOff · 09/10/2016 20:08

Ooh can you link to the embroidered one?

Tanaqui · 09/10/2016 20:10

I'm 45 and I just bought a plain black cord one from new look- it doesn't have the traditional dungaree fasteners at the shoulder though so am telling myself it is quite grown up!

SquirrelPaws · 09/10/2016 20:13

I'm 36 and I've got one. Black denim from Next. Not too short.

leccybill · 09/10/2016 20:26

You see - this is the thing - it's the dungaree fasteners that put me in mind of dressing like my young DD.
Have seen a burgundy one in Matalan herewith proper press stud buttons as opposed to dungaree fasteners but I do like the black embroidered one in DPs.

Thanks for the reassurance that I'm not too old to wear one though. Think I'm going to go for it.

My mum is 74 and wears ( carefully selected) pinafores and dungarees,. She is a size 8 though.

leccybill · 16/10/2016 12:58

Just updating to say I bought the DP one. Quite pleased with how it looks.
