Does anyone wear garters/suspenders daily?

Are they uncomfortable/impractical? I'd like to play around with sexy underwear underneath normal clothes to work etc but would like to be subtle about it.

I do, and find them much more comfortable than tights, once you have the right size belt and stockings. Also, if you get a ladder in one, you only have to throw that one out, so they're thrifty ;)

That's great to hear. I assumed they would be awkward and uncomfortable. Suggestions for particular types? I need a starting point.
I love the idea of only replacing one if there's damage.

I wore them (and all my friends did) throughout my time at boarding school. We had school issue ribbed stockings. I continued wearing them during my 20s, until I discovered hold ups.

Actually, very comfortable to wear, apart from the odd "ping" when one of the fasteners comes adrift.

I had assumed one doesn't use hold ups (with the rubbery inner band at the top) with a suspended belt but maybe the combination with a belt works. I tried hold ups a while ago but they wouldn't stay put, especially in warmer weather (sweat, lost friction, then Shock) but then again I was only using the cheaper brands.
I'm a plus size so I've just been browsing websites who specialise. Suspender belts are more expensive than I was expecting. Some claim to have a smooth finish, even under tight clothing, which is reassuring to hear but can't help but wonder about the metal parts being as 'smooth' as they say.

For stockings as a plus size lady I would thoroughly recommend the love honey ones actually. They are a decent fit and not too expensive! They do some lovely suspender belts but with plastic clips. I find them much more comfy than tights.

I ve only ever come across them once when i worked in a care home and we got a new resident in. They were the most fiddly things ever for us carers to be putting on her every morning. None of us had any experience with them and you knew when a male carer had dressed her as they dressed her in a way were she couldnt get her knickers down!

I can't imagine you'd wear hold ups AND suspenders - the clips wouldn't work very well. It would be one or the other.

With hold ups, always go for a broad band, and don't use any moisturiser on your legs or they won't stay.

I suffered with falling down hold ups for years in my 20s then recently bought a pair of Wolford for £20 and had them stay up for 12 hours no problems.
