I haveva party this weekend in a different country. It is a retirement/65th birthday party. I have one grey/black skater dress that I can wear, but only the choice of two shoes. No money let alone time to shop before the event.

Which shoes are the lesser of two weevils Wink and what tights could I wear? Party will be in a village hall in Norfolk (possibly outing myself!).

These are the only shoes I have. I haven't been to a party post-dc and nothing fits - all my gorgeous shoes i have to give away as my feet grew .

Pics attached, I hope.

Purple sparkly shoes? Or pink suede shoes?

Sparkly ones. The others have an ankle strap and ankle straps just make people's legs look shorter than they are.

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2016 12:44

Thanks for answering!

The dress us like a double-thick hoody material, if that makes sense? I'll definitely be warm Grin

Would you suggest sheer tights or thick black? I thought while black might suit the dress, it wouldn't suit the shoes.

flummoxed by fashion again!

Aye that's true Noble. I have stumpy enough legs as it is!

I prefer the second pair of shoes. I'd say thick black tights, but then I only own thick black tights..

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2016 13:19

Thanks Wowoo

I might have to put both sets on and re-photo...

The ankle straps are actually really low and go across the top of the foot iyswim?

Such a faff and I hate panicking!!

Purple sparkly, they are really pretty.

Nearlyadoctor · 05/10/2016 15:18

Purple, they're lovely.

Joinourclub · 05/10/2016 15:52

I also prefer the second pair, but can only decide if I see pics with them on

TheMasterMurderedMargarita · 05/10/2016 15:56

I prefer the second ones too. Hard to wear tights with the sparkly pair.

Vintagegirl1 · 05/10/2016 16:21

Neither of those shoes go with that dress. Primark do shoes in sale for a fiver or could you borrow a pair from a friend?

elQuintoConyo · 05/10/2016 19:37

Nowhere near a Primark either here or in UK. No money. No time to shop! Plus their shoes are plastic shite (sorry! It was a good suggestion).

I have decided to go with a totally different outfit, one that I had hanging in my wardrobe (skirt from 5 years ago!). Turquoise skirt, butter-yellow high-necked tshirt covered in butterflies. And awesome yellow butterfly mules that are holographic: butterflies/rose! Very 50s which is apt as the majority of the guests do Lindy hop and the like!

At least i can get money back off the dress! Result!

I'll post pictures later.

Thanks everyone for your input. And for those who like the purple sparklies- they were my wedding shoes!
