Trousers for a skinny boy

I've always got my ds the majority of his clothes from Sainsburys but although he's not particularly tall (around 104/105cm) or skinny, I e found that he needs age 2-3 (or 3 depending on the department) for the waist size but a 3-4 (or 4) for the length but even that'll be too short soon.

Does anyone else have this issue and where do you recommend for small boys trousers that don't cost the earth?

You need trousers with an adjustable waistband. Most of H&M trousers have them, as do Next.

Skinny bottoms are best catered for by
Sainsbury girls tracksuits !
H&M girls jeans (exactly same fastening as boys but much slimmer in the seat
M&S boys trousers.

PS don't tell DS he wears 'girls'. You can't tell.

Even with with the side tabs, the school trousers were ridiculously big in Sainsburys.

We have a Gap outlet shop near us that I get a lot of ds' trousers from as they have adjustable waists. We really struggled when he needed joggers for school though, as most were just elastic waists and therefore just fell down. I second Saintsbury's

Mine are all tall and skinny. School trousers I get from M&S, and for jeans I like H&M - even the boys' ones are very slim fitting with long legs, and have adjustable waistbands to boot. I prefer their European sizing system too. Rather than faffing about guessing what age size your DC needs, you just check how tall they are and get the right size for their height!

Tesco do slim leg school trousers. And next do skinny and super skinny jeans and chinos. That's all I buy for my beanpole,who looks a bit like a clown in normal trousers!

Vertbaudet. All their trousers are cut slim, and they also have extra slim ones called Narrow Fit. I have a boy that needs about 3y for waist but 5 for length, and those are the only ones that don't need further adjusting.

My DS was very slim. I used to buy stuff from La Redoute, and Vertbaudet, too.

Anything French, even the stuff from Monoprix. Also Gap in the sale or on offer, I got some cords for a fiver. Sainsbos too big for my DS.

M&S do slim fit school trousers but I've found it better to go for a younger age in the longer length range. They do long and extra long.

100% agree with Zara. My son has long legs (for a short arse) and a tiny bottom. He isn't as broad across the hip and waist. I find the cut best for him in there, and sometimes I buy girls jeans in there too. I have bought in next for him before, but less often as he gets older.

Sainsburys are cut too wide in the leg for my son. The school trousers were awful on him.
