Ordered the Niacimide and the Rosehip Oil. It does say they don't recommend the use of Salicylic acid... Wonder why that is?

Mine came last week. I've used the retinoid a couple of times - no fabulous results to speak of yet but I wouldn't expect there to be. It is quite drying though, even when used with hyaluronic (sp??) acid and moisturiser.

The Vit C suspension is a very odd "serum", very thick and viscous but not sticky. Can't think of anything quite like it tbh. Only used once so no miracles yet. It balled up when I applied it over my Hado labo hyaluronic serum which was a bit annoying, next time I'll try it on bare skin.

Not tried Buffet or the lactic acid yet. I'm trying to gradually introduce rather than throw loads of new stuff at my skin at once

My Hyaluronic, retinoids and buffet serums came in the post today. Can't wait till I take off my make up and start playing! Grin

Dulc, I'm using the C serum on bare skin, then a thicker cream and some rosehip oil after I've left it to do it's magic. I'm alternating the C serum, the retinol then every third day I use acid, either glycolic, lactic or salicylic.

On my acid days I hydrate with lots of layers after.

Do you have the premium Hado lotion or the normal, they're both good.

This range has actually transformed my skin, I adore it

It's fast becoming one of my favourites too hollin! Smile

I also love sr skincare for their peels, also cheap and no nonsense.

Am off shortly to collect my package from the P Off. Hylaronic and retinol. Hope it doesn't flare up my rosacea.

What are you using Hollinhurst?

My daughter has terrible acne, would it help her ?

Report
hollinhurst84 · 13/10/2016 12:57

I'm using the alpha in the am, then in the evening I alternate so either the 2% retinol or I use the HA/b5 with the niaci/zinc

LumpySpacedPrincess · 15/10/2016 10:18

Pisssssssedofff - what is she using at the moment? The best place to start with acne is at the cleansing stage, dd uses a low ph cleanser then a solution which has a decent amount of BHA (beta hydroxy acid) this clears dead skin cells plus bha cleanses deep down. Dd's acne has gone completely

So I've been using nothing but the ordinary for almost a week,

AM Buffet, nic/b5, hyaluronic acid
PM Buffet, retinoid 2%

My skin looks no better and seems to have lost its glow. I don't really like the consistency a bit gloopy and sticky nor the smell. It seems I am definitely someone who enjoys the smell and texture of a product.

Will continue until all gone but won't be replacing, shame it's such good pricing!

Pisssedoff the niacinamide and zinc might help, also get her some salicylic acid. what is she currently using?

Lazy, I use some of the products as a good source of a particular ingredient, the C and the Retinol but I would find them a bit joyless to use exclusively.

I'm an ingredients girl and they tick a certain box, use them alongside other products and build up a routine that pleases you.

This looks interesting but where do you start? I have combination skin. Very prone to congestion. I currently use superdrug hot cloth cleanser, and then effaclar toner and moisturiser which works to a point. I think I could do with a retiniod but have no idea what the rest even means?

I posted elsewhere but here's my skin after using it regularly (just wearing powder, no foundation)
And my skin before
It's time of the month and I don't have one spot which is unheard of

Fanny you can email Victoria Health or Deciem and they will suggest a regime for you, lumpy I wanted to use them exclusively to see if it 'liked' my skin, think I will mix it up with my regular skincare too as you suggested.

Thank you for pointing out the website :-). Could any of you lovely people suggest which products I should get to buff up a 50 year old face with thread veins, forehead and mouth lines please?

Thanks, OP for starting this thread - I am really excited to hear about these products. Have just bought the Vitamin C, and will probably order the Retinol 1% next month. Hope it works - could be a godsend for the small-of-budget, such as myself!

Vitamin C takes months to work, but it does work, it's one of the ingredients with the most research behind it.

I also love Niacinamide, Retinol and Hyaluronic acid. I love skincare, don't get me started on acids I could wax lyrical all day! Grin

Report
LumpySpacedPrincess · 16/10/2016 09:13

Little, the 1% is a different formulation to the 2% Retinol, have a read, you may get on better with the new formulation 2%.

Report
LittleOyster · 16/10/2016 11:54

Thanks, Lumpy, I shall persist with the Vitamin C.

I think I must have got the wrong end of the stick with the Retinol - will start on the 2% once I have embedded the Vitamin C into my routine.

Re: acids, I really need to start using these regularly. I looked at The Ordinary lactic acid but was a bit baffled by it. I get confused by all the layering of products. When should it be applied, and how often? And should it be washed off or left on? Confused

I apply acids on clean skin, leave on the required time, rinse, then hydrate. I do use quite strong ones though.

Cosrx do some nice mild acids that can be layered and left on. They need layering according to their ph, they are all very low which is why they do the job they do so you apply the acid on bare skin or on top of another lower ph product.
