Does anyone know of a long lasting purple/black nail varnish or a red/black with no glitter?
I just can't seem to find the right ones and it is getting a tad annoying.

This 3 days now. It only cost £3! I love it. I use Seche Vite to seal. It's called Midniggt Rendevous.

China Glaze: Prey Tell, Evening Seduction or Midtown Magic (China Glaze lasts ages on me)
Barry M: Black Currant or Black Cherry (haven't tried these as they are new)
CND Vinylux 7 Day: Dark Dahlia or Dark Lava (combined with the 7 Day Topcoat these last forever)

Barry M has some lovely colours but they don't last. Even with a topcoat. I have that Rommel one. It's so good. Only needs one coat if you're in a rush. KitKat have you tried Angora Cardigan by Essie? Superb colour.

No, I've only tried one Essie, and it was bright orange (magazine freebie).

I'm a total cheapskate when it comes to nail varnish so I begrudge paying more than about 4 quid a bottle. I'll look out for that one though, it's a lovely colour.

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 03/10/2016 20:15

You can pick Essie colours up on Amazon for as little as £3. Not that one frustratingly. :o I got it in a double pack with another colour for £11 so not too bad.

KitKats28 · 03/10/2016 20:17

£3??? Because I always need more nail varnish (not) 😉

olderthanyouthink · 03/10/2016 20:19

Sensationail! Less colours and more expensive but they LAST!
1.5-2 weeks is pretty easy. Miss behave is a now burgundy and I think there is a darker red too, not sure about purple.

Rouge noir? I know, I know, very 90s...

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 03/10/2016 20:25

I love Rouge Noir. Can't afford it though. :(

EnidButton · 03/10/2016 20:28

Nails Inc Victoria. Very dark cherry that looks almost black red if you use 3 layers.

Rouge Noir is a classic so not 90's. Although the 90's are back atm anyway.

jennywasafriendofmrbrightside · 03/10/2016 20:28

Rouge Noir is still a classic - bloody lovely but lasts 5 minutes on my nails Hmm

jennywasafriendofmrbrightside · 03/10/2016 20:32

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark and William Tell Me about OPI are beautiful 'almost black' reds too

CinderellaFant · 03/10/2016 20:32

What about a matte effect one? I know it's not the colours you mentioned but I love this one

Rimmel black cherries, think it was about £4 last year. Looks like rouge noir (well it does to me!)

SharonBottsPoundOfGrapes · 03/10/2016 20:58

I have that Cinderella. In fact I have dozens of Avon polishes. I like that plus charcoal smoke and the navy one (the name I can't remember). If anyone wants to try matte nails I recommend this. Is less than £3 and can be used on any polish.

Ooo lots of replies! Thank you

Lots of black reds ... I kept finding dark ones that turned to bright on!

Off to have a look
