Has anyone got a pair. Do they look good or just look decent on the models online?

OP posts:

I've got a flat pair in black and a flat pair in grey both suede I wear all the time in winter.

Then a beautiful pair in soft tan leather with a block heel I am too conscious to wear as I think the same thing!

neveradullmoment99 · 30/09/2016 20:02

There was a couple of people at my work wearing them. I personally think they look awful and can't get by the tartyness of them tbh. It may be because she hadn't styled them well.

I have a completely white bedroom. White walls, blinds, furniture, bed, bedding. I love it. It's so nice going to bed! Even my flooring is white.

thegoodnameshadgone · 30/09/2016 20:18

Sorry wrong thread!!

thegoodnameshadgone · 30/09/2016 20:20

I'd never wear them to work though!

ageingrunner · 30/09/2016 20:21

I've just tried a few pairs on but I'm going to send them back. They don't go with the rest of my clothes. I'm too scruffy, basically Grin
And some of them were a bit panto, too. And I felt like they probably wouldn't stay up that well, eventually.

StrawberrytallCake · 30/09/2016 20:24

I've tried but I just look like a prostitute in them Sad

Might be another tall thing though?

neveradullmoment99 · 30/09/2016 20:43

I've tried but I just look like a prostitute in them

Thats exactly what they remind me of. I cannot get by it.

OyWithThePoodles · 30/09/2016 21:06

I've got a flat black suede pair and a flat navy suede pair from last year - Next and Clarks. Love them - they hide my fat lower legs and saggy knees and make my thighs look ok. Need help to get them off tho Blush

ageingrunner · 30/09/2016 21:16

What do you wear them with Oy?

OyWithThePoodles · 30/09/2016 21:32

ageingrunner Usually wear with skinny jeans, a fitted top and a long cardi. Sometimes with casual midi skirts/dresses. Sometimes with leggings and long top/short dress/tunic.

Talisin · 30/09/2016 21:36

I have finally managed to find a pair that don't keep falling down and I love them. I do not believe they make me look like a prostitute - but if they make me look like a principal boy then I can live with that as I actually like the look Grin

gingerbreadmanm · 30/09/2016 21:41

id love a new pair for winter but have fat calves. well fat legs all over tbh. if anyone could recommend any id be greatful.

i wore mone with skinny jeans and nice jumpera or leggings and long tops and occasionally with tights and shirt dresses. i do feel fairly dressy in them though.

geniusindisguise · 30/09/2016 21:42

I have the flat caddy belle ones from Clarks in a suede aubergine colour and I love them. Flattering on the leg and very comfy. I wear mine with skinny jeans, swing dresses and leggings with slouchy jumpers or a checked shirt.

ageingrunner · 30/09/2016 21:43

Thanks Oy I might have another play around with them before I send them back Smile

OyWithThePoodles · 30/09/2016 21:48

Yes genius - my navy ones are Clarks Caddy Belle - they are brilliant aren't they. I didn't know they did aubergine ... off for a look ....

thegoodnameshadgone · 30/09/2016 21:48

I think flat ones are easy to work with

geniusindisguise · 30/09/2016 21:55

They do them in a lovely pale grey as well Oy I think I would ruin them in that colour though.

TOGS11 · 30/09/2016 21:59

I've been wearing them for 4 years. I dont find them pant at all. I wear flat black leather or suede ones with dresses and thick black tights or brown/beige ones with skinnies and a tunic or long top for casual.

Its a perfectly acceptable look, not that unusual where I am and has been popular for a few years.

I'm late thirties, tall, hour glass size 12 btw.

TOGS11 · 30/09/2016 21:59

pant = panto

PNGirl · 01/10/2016 09:05

I have flat black leather ones that are a bit bikery with a pewter zip down the side which are easy to style. I think the suede heeled ones are a bit much! I wear with tights or skinny jeans.

Darkswan · 03/10/2016 22:33

I have some that are definitely panto so now font get worn outside of the house. I wish i was tall and thin enough to pull them off though

AmberNectarine · 04/10/2016 00:10

I've been wearing them for a few years now and have just invested in a couple of pairs of Stuart Weitzmans (one flat and one high). They are the kind that hit nearly mid thigh and they are stunning. Both suede. Neither slutty nor pants, IMO!
