I want a loose powder that will set my make up after I apply it. I have MAC studio fix compact that I use for touch ups in the day but what is HD Powder and do I need this for setting? Do I buy translucent or a coloured loose powder. It's such a mind field. What's people's best buys please...

I've got the Laura Mercier translucent loose powder and it is absolutely brilliant. Love it.

I have the Nars transluscent light reflecting setting powder. It's pressed, not loose, and is very good. In fact it's so good I only wear it very rarely because it gives a very perfect, finished look that is more polished than my usual make up look.

NYX HD finishing powder is amazing. It's so fine so it glides on and makes your face so so soft.
