Looking for a good spf50 cream to where under makeup

I'm looking for recommendations for a good spf 50 cream to wear everyday under makeup, my skin is combination (slight acne but dry in patches- yay!). I'd like something that dries clear, non greasy and acts as a good makeup base. All suggestions greatly appreciated! Smile

I buy Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence from Amazon. www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SM99KWU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have very oily skin with melasma from pregnancy and I have spent years (and loads of money) trying to find a properly non-greasy sun cream. I also like the Bare Minerals primer with SPF but think it was only a 30. It is tinted so can be used on its own on good skin days.
The Biore one is sent from Japan so takes a few weeks for delivery but is worth the wait. I don't use a moisturiser under it but you may need to on your dry patches.

Avoid La Roche Posay! Not impressed at all, Aldi's was better Angry

Itrynotto · 28/09/2016 22:10

I read that factor 30 protects from something like 95% of UV and a factor 50 about 97% and so it isn't worth going quite so high. It is easier to find a daily SPF of 30 which won't break you out of make your face all white or greasy looking.

stclair · 28/09/2016 22:23

I use the Dermologica 50 SPF one. Not at all greasy.

Sugarcoma · 28/09/2016 22:24

I use No 7 factor 50 face SPF. If it's a little shiny I just brush powder on top and it's fine.

I got this mustela sunscreen for infant DS and am thinking of getting it for myself. It sinks in very nicely (not oily), has avocado oil in it and I reckon if it's designed for babies it should be very gentle

Look on Amazon for Neutrogena Dry Touch Ultra Sheer. It lives up to its name and has a lovely nude look and feel. If you have dry areas you might need a moisturiser underneath is it is a little bit drying.

If you wear foundation or BB cream you could look for Korean brands as they usually have SPFs of around 50. (Missha, Holika Holika, Tonymoly are just 3 brands I can remember off the top of my head.)

Thank you all for the suggestions, I'm off to do some googling!

Body Shop Skin Defence SPF50. Lightweight and non greasy!

burnishedsilver · 29/09/2016 10:30

Second vote for Body Shop Skin Defence.

Indecisivejo · 29/09/2016 12:31

I got on well with la Roche posay dry touch gel/cream

Seconding this. Have been using it for years, it's fab and inexpensive. Can't go wrong.

atticusclaw2 · 29/09/2016 12:35

I like Clinique city block (although its only spf40)

AmethystMoon · 29/09/2016 12:49

La Roche posay dry touch or the comfort both fine with my acne or rather lack of as the LRP products finally have it under control Grin

OutToGetYou · 29/09/2016 12:58

I like the Watery Essence, though weird name!

Cockblocktopus · 29/09/2016 13:16

Watery essence is great.

Obagi as recommended by Dr Sam Bunting is superb. Behaves like a primer too.

Thirding this! You can even get it in 70spf and it's still dry and non-greasy.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 29/09/2016 17:40

I like the Vichy one. The matt version.

BuntyFigglesworthSpiffington · 29/09/2016 17:41

Didn't like Watery Essence at all.

mrssmooth · 29/09/2016 17:46

I follow Katie on "Beauty & the Boutique.com" - she swears by Heliocare 360 SPF 50. Not tried it myself but it has very good reviews and her skin looks amazing! I've ordered from her before and the service is fantastic. She's also got a facebook page where she replies really quickly to any questions/comments. Might be worth a look!

nothingwittyhere · 29/09/2016 17:56

Thirding the Body Shop essence.

Ohchristmastreeohchristmastree · 29/09/2016 19:43

I love biore watery essence (the brightening one). I don't wear foundation now as it smooths pores and is slightly blurring.
I tried the body shop skin defence one hoping it would replace the biore, but it was really greasy and I hated it on my skin (I now use it on just my neck).
So I don't run out, when i receive my new one I order my next one from Japan, because it takes weeks to arrive!

Madbengalmum · 29/09/2016 20:26

Heliocare is the best by far. Theyalso do a tinted version which you dont need foundation for. Recommended by the latest beauty bloggers too. Primes and is virtually undectable.

Mrsmaudwatts · 29/09/2016 20:31

Heliocare!

ChishandFips33 · 29/09/2016 20:41

LRP Ultra light
I have combination skin and find this isn't greasy, doesn't leave me looking like a ghost and make up sits well on it
