Scared stupid about my wedding dress

So I have had drama with my wedding dress since day one, and ended up with a new back being put in (zip up). The seamstress then took in the sides at the top (small boobs) - all good. Except I picked it up yesterday and whilst it did zip up, it is SO tight. I can stand up and breathe and that's about it.

It's only a week and a half until the wedding and even if I can lose weight it's no guarantee it will fit afterwards. I want to be able to sit down at some point whilst wearing it! What should I do? I have emailed the shop for their opinion but I imagine they'll say it's fine :-(

It sounds as though your only option is to go carb-free until the wedding, OP - no alcohol, no sugar, nothing. What a pain, just before your wedding.

How about the better option of getting it adjusted to fit? Despite all the babble of everything taking months, a competent seamstress has plenty of time to sort this cock up.

An uncomfortable dress will show on your face - and look awful.

Take it back to the seamstress. It will need to be let out a bit.

Get it fixed. It's the dress that's wrong, NOT you. A decent tailor will be able to sort it in time. Don't let it mess up how you feel on the day. I'd just suck up whatever it cost for a quick job. Good luck, have a lovely day.

Take it back and get it fixed, you've paid for a job that hasn't been done properly and they'll have to prioritise putting it right. There's time for them to let it out, ring them first thing in the morning and don't be fobbed off

It shouldn't cost you anything extra imo, you've paid for the work already & it's not your fault they've done it wrong

I just don't even know if they can let it out without making a huge mess of it :-( I'm so angry at myself for not just getting a corset back put in when I had the chance! I definitely haven't put on weight since my previous fitting, in fact I'd lost almost 2kg. I understand it needs to be tight but surely it shouldn't be back boobs central tight? :-(

Correct. Seamstress has messed up. Raise hell - or grab another dress from the millions that kick about and do small claims afterwards.

Hi sooper, I've not spoken to the seamstress yet but the shop have, and she does thinks there's room to let it out slightly. The shop have passed me her number as well so I'll ring her today.

I'm hoping that I can see her tomorrow and in the meantime do a bit of a low carb/no alcohol week... To be honest if nothing else hopefully that will also calm down the breakouts I've been having this last week too

Get it let out or put corset back in now. One of my bridesmaids ended up with a dress 2 sizes too small and the seamstress remade it with a corset back. Good luck

I have been thinking corset back, but I think that would be hard to do (dress isn't white and fabric matching would be a nightmare)... Plus I think it actually wouldn't take that much to fix, I mean it did do up (and only needed one person on zip duty!) so if it can be let out a little and I can eat clean hopefully it will be ok...

One of my friends also mentioned their dress loosened off a bit during the day...?

Correct, your fiance isnt wasting all this time and wont be in a miserably uncomfortable outfit on the day.

Tell the seamstress, to whom you have no doubt paid a fortune, to fix her mistake.

You are supposed to enjoy your wedding. You cant do that in a painful outfit. And as you say you have already lost weight, you get the dress adjusted not your body. This isnt cinderella!
