What denier is the most flattering? I'm going to buy some M&S autograph ones which are quite often recommend on here but I need help with the denier!

I always get the 100 denier because the thinner ones seem to snag and ladder if I so much as look at them once on.

I like the 100 denier too, specially in winter. And the 60s for when it's a bit warmer. Don't like the slight see- throughness of the 40s.

Depends on what look you want. 100 denier will be as dark colour wise as leggings, but the material won't be as thick and the look more streamline than leggings. I think they work best with boots, loafers, brogues and heavier weight materials next to them, like denim or wool or heavy jersey. They'd be my choice as the only thing I don't think they look good with are court shoes/dainty ballet type shoes.

40 denier will be see-through i.e. not opaque so for me wouldn't be a casual look. I'd only choose if I had to wear suits or tailoring for work and even then if it was really quite formal, or had to wear court shoe type heels or dainty shoes.

60 denier will be somewhere in between!

40 are pointless.

I got a 200 denier in Sainsburys last week and love them, really cosy. Only in black though.

CarpetDiem · 27/09/2016 17:55

witsender what's the sizing like on your Sainsburys ones? & are they Matt? I'm not keen on a sheen!

Does anyone know what the sizing is like on the autograph opaques? And if I'm trying to look smarter/ sexier Hmm should I go for the 40 denier?

I'm wearing them at the moment, and they are matte for sure.

I am a large size 16 with long legs, and their largest size is roomy on me.

CarpetDiem · 29/09/2016 10:54

I'm closer to Sainsburys than M&S so I'll get some to try, ta.
