Ankle boots to wear with skirts

Sorry for another boots post. What are your recommendations for boots to wear with opaque tights and an A line mini skirt. I have small feet, good ankles but curvy calves. I'm bored of knee high boots, too short for over the knee and long boots are tricky anyway with my legs. TIA

I quite like sock boots. I have thin ankles but mediums calves, and there are no gaps

M&S

I was trying on Chelsea boots and these were just much more flattering, I think because they are close to the ankle. Block heel gives a bit of height but is comfy for stomping around in. My normally very critical DCs have not fallen about laughing when I wear them with a skirt so they must be OK.

Ash Jalouse look good with skirts. I wear Sam Edelman Pettys (also have a tan pair of Posies which are good too), as I can't deal with any height!

I definitely think something with a heel is the way to go. I have fat curvy calves and have some brogue style boots from new look last year that have a block heel and they look much better with skirts than my flat chelsea boots.

The height of the boots is key. Keep it short - the boot should end before your calf starts to widen out. Height wise these are what you need. Any higher and you emphasise your calves.
