Please talk to me about the Hush Tara Dress

I am contemplating ordering it as it looks beautiful (on the model Grin) and would fit in with my lifestyle (bending and stretching for my toddler without flashing my cleavage).

I've got quite the tummy after 4 c-sections so just wordering if the ruching is forgiving?

Also, can you advise on whether medium or large would be better for an apple size 14? I've had a look at some of the reviews and can't get a clear indication of which would be best.

Thanks!

I bought the skirt recently (medium for a large-ish size 12) and I do really like it although I feel like the colour has faded a bit after just a few washes. Very tempted to get the dress in forest though...

Any ideas which 3 John Lewises are stocking Hush?

Jermajesty · 05/10/2016 23:12

I'm still debating whether to keep the Tara - I'm going to decide tomorrow morning. I am very tempted by the skirt though, in both colours. The Annabelle dress is being returned incidentally, didn't suit me at all.

Farmerinthoseclothes · 06/10/2016 08:30

Has anyone got the Tina or the Victoria? Similar shape but more expensive, and woolen materials rather than the ruched cotton

Nearlyadoctor · 06/10/2016 08:39

I've got the Tina, lovely soft knitted fabric. Normally wear a small in Tara but tried xs and s, went for xs as when walking in the s the skirt slipped down slightly. Not washed it yet.

needastrongone · 06/10/2016 08:52

Not sure about the John Lewis. I got a letter from Hush saying the Leeds branch, which is interesting as it's not even built yet!

I've just ordered the Annabelle, so will report if it suits.

Jermajesty · 06/10/2016 09:46

I decided to keep the Tara, teamed with opaques and my numerous different ankle boots I think I'll get lots of use, both work and casual.

musicmaiden · 06/10/2016 12:14

Farmerinthoseclothes Hush is in John Lewis Oxford Street, Peter Jones and Birmingham. And on their website.

Lucked · 06/10/2016 13:26

I have an older version of the hush dress were the skirt isn't ruched and although the ruching will be better they are tricky for Apple shapes. I have only only worn mine a little on holiday since I have lost some weight but it is going to get too big for me before it gets truly flattering. If I get to my goal weight I will be investing as they at comfy.

AgedRelative · 06/10/2016 17:43

I have the Tara and will be wearing it tomorrow. Love it! Feel dressed but easy. Really fancy the Annabelle now...

latristessa · 06/10/2016 17:49

I ordered the Tara dress in a Medium but had to send it back as it was not at all flattering. I'm a size 14 top (with massive boobs) and a size 12 bottom. It just served to highlight my top-heaviness. Such a shame as I have coveted it for ages.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 06/10/2016 18:16

OP here, I have decided against the Tara dress and am now looking at the 'Eva' as I think it might suit my shape (definite 14 on top, 12/14 on the bottom depending on cake and beer intake). Has anyone tried the Eva and care to share their experience?

Thanks for the info on the Tara dress again btw, I think I've been averted from disappointment Smile

Code AW1610 didn't work for me, don't suppose anyone has another? I'm about to order victoria dress and Adele jumper #excited#

neveradullmoment99 · 06/10/2016 18:40

Sorry, no code. There is a code on the other thread. Think its about the ruched skirt but its for new hush customers or you can use a different email. Its £10 so quite a lot.

I got the Eva dress in black and had it on the other day. I felt very chic. Its lovely. Too low for me so wore a cami under it. Defintely a thumbs up though and its a great length. Not too short, not too long.

FlindersKeepers · 06/10/2016 19:07

I have last year's burgundy Tara on right now and might get the green, I have summer navy and sage green. They wash brilliantly and make my backside look perky. Wink

Nearlyadoctor · 06/10/2016 20:00

OCT2016 gives free delivery, if that helps?

Mummamayhem · 06/10/2016 21:27

Thank you nearly!!

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 06/10/2016 21:45

I've ordered the Tara (just to see what it's like), will try to lose a few lbs before it arrives in a few weeks' time! I know I dismissed it upthread but I couldn't resist the green!

The Eva dress also fell into my basket before I could do anything about it Wink It's in stock (unlike the Tara dress) so will be winging it's way to Ireland soon!

The green Tara dress is absolutely lovely Martin.

I think there's only a free delivery code at the minute, apart from the refer a friend £10 discount.

Wore the burgundy ruched skirt today with a FC oversized jumper.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 06/10/2016 23:30

Thank you, I am looking forward to getting it. Could be my Christmas Day dress!

You can use this link for £10 off your first order.
hush.mention-me.com/m/ode/osl-4d4ab039a2

Put the code in the gift voucher box rather than the promotional code box. 🙂

I have bought the dress in Forest Green and agree it's very flattering.

hecallsmebunny · 20/10/2016 16:42

Tara owners, does the skirt ride up when you wear with opaques? I don't have shiny ones but have found some tube type skirts prone to moving in the past!

Talisin · 20/10/2016 17:03

Nope. Doesn't budge on me.

Needastrongone · 20/10/2016 17:43

Nor me. Smile

I am pissed off with the state of the black Tara dress that arrived yesterday though. I'll be keep it, as I have the green and know it suits me, but it's so creased it would be impossible to see how well it fits as a stand alone item.

I think I will email them actually.

Nearlyadoctor · 20/10/2016 19:29

Nope, doesn't move on me!

hecallsmebunny · 20/10/2016 19:31

Will have to keep it then I think Wink

Thanks!
