Thought it was a bit strange and also wondered why people would buy it from there when you can obviously get it with discounts on their actual website!

Explain!!!!

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:43

They are selling Boden clothes. Just a selection but thought it was a bit unusual. They sound like they are branching out. A bit like Hush being on sale in John Lewis.

They dont sell Boden clothes in any other department store or do they?

OP posts:
JedRambosteen · 22/09/2016 20:45

What? Boden clothes in store so you can try on and assess the quality (or lack of)? Interesting.

Well it's high time there was something in a Next store you'd even consider trying on. This can only be good - but I agree it's a bit odd.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:46

Not in store but online.

OP posts:
DrXandsNewDate · 22/09/2016 20:47

Where/how did you find this out? Sounds interesting. A big barrier for me buying expensive Boden items is that I would have to faff around sending them back.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:47

As part of their 'Label' side. You can still order and have next day delivery. They a few bits and pieces for kids too.

OP posts:
DrXandsNewDate · 22/09/2016 20:48

Oh....still the same problem then. Unless you could return to store.

You can return any of their stuff including 'label' stuff in store. I have done so in the past.

Nanasueathome · 22/09/2016 20:51

They will not have the discounts that Boden offer though
Johnnie has reductions every week and sends gift vouchers
Next will not be doing that surely

DrXandsNewDate · 22/09/2016 20:51

Ooooh good information if you can return in store. Will keep an eye on it. Thanks

EddieStobbart · 22/09/2016 20:52

The one thing I just looked at was slightly more expensive than the "no discount" Boden price. I hope people don't start buying at those prices and Boden get rid of the discounts - that'd see me off for good.

Blowninonabreeze · 22/09/2016 20:52

Imagine it's so you can get Boden 'on credit' anyone who could afford Boden outright would buy direct (and with discount) vaguely exploitative IMO

Theromanempire · 22/09/2016 20:52

Why would you buy it from Next at full price when you can buy it direct from Boden with 20-30% off in one of their frequent promotions? Next never offer discounts on non-sale items!

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:54

Well thats what i was thinking. Who would buy when Boden is so heavily discounted. Worth looking out for in the next online sale. Although unless you get a VIP invite, there will mostly be nothing left. There never is. It is a bit exploitative.

OP posts:
neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:55

They have been doing Joules and Fatface for a while but they dont discount as much as Boden and Bodens prices are really over the top.

OP posts:
PikachuSayBoo · 22/09/2016 20:55

You buy it through Next, try on and make sure you like it.

If you don't like it you return to store.

If you do like it you also return to store and then order from Boden for cheaper happy in the knowledge you don't need to return it.

DrXandsNewDate · 22/09/2016 20:57

Genius Smile

StrawberryLeaf · 22/09/2016 20:58

Pickachu good idea!

I've just ordered an Abercrombie and Fitch hoodie for DD in the next VIP sale with a good discount so I'll be keeping my eye on the boden stuff being reduced!

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 20:58

I have done that with some Joules stuff!!! If you get it delivered to the nearest store, you dont even need to pay postage! However the temptation is just to keep it!!!

NattyGolfJerkin · 22/09/2016 20:59

Presumably it benefits Boden by introducing more people to the brand.

Presumably it benefits Next by having a 'posh', 'middle class' brand on board as it broadens their market too.

Presumably it benefits the customer to buy Boden through Next because they can pay via a directory credit account, rather than in a lump sum on the Boden site.

neveradullmoment99 · 22/09/2016 21:02

Well yes, I can see how it benefits them but you could pay up on a credit card anway so in a way, fail to see the difference for the customer.
