Dry lips & lipstick

My lips are quite dry. I am going to be bridesmaid soon and will be wearing lipstick on the day (MAC 'modesty' - thanks to all the recommendations I read on here!)

Is there a wonder product I can use to condition my lips? Or tips to make them look ok with lipstick? I love the colour and staying power of the lipstick but my lips just look awful.

I use a lip balm over night, quite a thick layer, and then when I wake up my lips are moisturised and any dead skin is sort of plumped up, so when you wipe any leftover balm off with a tissue it takes the dead skin with it! The Blistex Intensive Moisturiser Hydrating Lip Cream is my favourite for this. It's a cream rather than a balm, so it feels like it's doing more than just sitting on the surface, and hydrates that dead skin so you can get it off! I wear lipstick most days, including really matte liquid lipsticks.

Thanks Nabootique, I use a bit of vaseline at nights but don't put on a thick layer. Will get that Blistex cream and do as you do, hopefully it will help.

Get a damp flannel and give your lips a wipe, moisturise with Carmex lip balm, wait an hour or so and scrub again with the flannel. Gets rid of dead skin. Carmex is my saviour!
