Is there such a thing as a nice, cool, not disgusting slipper?

I like wearing slippers as I get cold feet but my god they're hideous.

For less than £30 please.

Bedroom Athletics have some nice bootee style ones. I like sheepskin bootees myself, but they cost more than £30 unfortunately..

puglife15 · 22/09/2016 15:08

See I quite like those paxillin. I just hate the cutesy fluffy pink stuff.

Grin problem solved then. Warm, classy, easily identified as yours and a steal at £14 at ASOS.

puglife15 · 22/09/2016 16:48

Haha. Burger feet here I come.

Not particularly stylish but if you have cold feet...I give you MICROWAVE SLIPPERS

Best Thing Ever. Really! I have Raynauds so my toes are always icy and painful, I love my microwave slippers. I'm evangelical. In case you can't tell Grin

JamieLannistersFuckButler · 22/09/2016 18:58

I agree with Paxillin - embrace the naff.

My feet get darn cold in the winter, the year before last I discovered the joy of bootie slippers (Rudolph ones received as a Christmas gift...wore them until spring).

Bought myself a replacement pair of purple furry/fleecy ones in the M&S sale last year.

Real wool is what you need. I am currently sporting Ugg slippers but they are madly expensive (I got them with an amazing offer). Costco have lovely mens loafer stylee ones in at the moment for peanuts, I got some for DH. If I had bigger feet I'd buy some for me!

DH bought me Mahabis for my birthday but I can't give up my Uggs. They are SO warm!

MoonlightMojitos · 22/09/2016 19:39

I just get boot ones from next... this pair were £16. Not at all attractive but soooo warm!

I have the leopard print Leona ones from Moshulu, very comfy but relatively stylish too. Accidentally went shopping in them the other day and got away with it as they look like ordinary flats.

Slippers are the only time Uggs are acceptable as footwear - get Uggs

MyFriendsCallMeOh · 26/09/2016 04:29

I have some Mahabis. Not cheap. It super comfortable, very warm and not so naff.

Only1scoop · 26/09/2016 04:41

I like the Liberty ones in Uniqlo

puglife15 · 27/09/2016 10:34

I do like the mahabis but can't justify the price when I know they'll probably get destroyed by my children in some way... Ditto Uggs, I can't spend £100 on shoes I don't love.

The moshulu ones are fairly tasteful.

I've just bought these and they are absolutely gorgeous - they are probably too lovely to wear actually Blush

Can't wait for the cold weather now!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 27/09/2016 11:04

I've had those Moshulu ones and yes, they do look more like shoes but they're not that warm because they're not made of natural fibre. Same with all the fluffy bootie styles; polyester just doesn't bring warmth.
I wear the bootie ones from Celtic & Co at the moment, which are pretty fugly but they're hella cosy and last a coulle of years - plus have a hard sole so you can nip out to the bins in them.
Those ones I think Flump linked to look good though - might splash out!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 27/09/2016 11:09

Forgot to say Ruby and Ed have some pretty ones, but again the linings are all polyester faux fur so they just don't insulate in the same way wool does. Also rather flimsy underfoot, the ballet style at least.

ShotgunNotDoingThePans · 27/09/2016 11:12

I suppose you could buy a bigger size and add a sheepskin insole.

purpleshortcake · 27/09/2016 11:16

I bought these snuggly velvet ones from Boden a couple of years ago in purple and green. Lots of colours on offer. I'd suggest go a size smaller though or they can slip. They are lovely and lined with a really soft filling. http://m.boden.co.uk/en-gb/womens-nightwear/slippers/ar794-nud/womens-milkshakeivory-velvet-bow-slipper?cmmmmc=PLAGooglegle--Shopping-_-Product&istCompanyId=a40e1fa1-0635-4a1b-8d9a-2caa763eeee2&istItemId=xxrixiltqq&istBid=wzit&gclid=CIqFkKOor88CFRAz0wod87AEwg
