Please help my face

I have a 6 month old and have totally neglected my skin...make up gets removed with baby wipes, hardly ever moisturise etc etc etc

I have sensitive skin prone to blemishes and redness but also dryness. What are your skincare brand/regime & make up recommendations?

I currently wear Revlon color stay foundation which I love (but any other foundation recommendations welcome) but don't use primer or anything else...should I?

No 7 protect and perfect advanced serum. I always come back to this. It really does work. Go for the advanced intense if you're 35-45, or if you just feel your skin is old for your years.

Drink loads of water, eat nuts and plenty of veg too.

Oh and regarding foundation, can you afford to go high end? If you can, YSL Youth Liberator with serum. It's brilliant stuff! Gives you good coverage and at the risk of sounding like an advert it still looks like your skin, just better.

Cetaphil was great for calming down my sensitive skin which was both dry and oily in patches. I also now use an acid toner (Ren clarimatte from m and s), which had made a huge difference.

I use simple make up remover. I've tried all sorts but end up coming back to the basic one.

Well 27 is young, but prevention is better than the cure and all that.

I find Cminique moisture surge extended thirst relief excellent for my sensitive dry skin. It's really refreshing and non greasy at all.

But crucially you just need to stop with the wipes! They won't be helping. You need a gentle cleanser and a gentle moisturiser to begin with. Add a serum before your moisturiser for an extra boost - boots no 7 is good, also avene is very good for sensitive skin. Actuall Avene would be a good first stop all round for you as its great for my allergenic skin.

Gentle exfoliation ( I like dermalogica daily microfoliant) will help too if it doesn't aggravate your skin.

YY to stop using baby wipes! I have similar skin to you. I remove makeup with Clinique Take the Day off Balm which has a great texture and a flannel. Then follow it up with either an Alpha H cleanser or the Body Shop Vitamin E cleanser. Nothing foaming as this will dry out your skin further.

I also use the Ren toner or First Aid Beauty toner pads. I often use an oil like Clarins Blue Orchid and then either Nivea Daily Moisturiser or Origins Drink Up mask if my skin is feeling more dehydrated.

Drinking 2+l of water helps. In terms of foundation, Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser or Armani Luminous Silk have a great finish, give good coverage and a dewy finish. I don't tend to use a primer unless I'm going on a night out.

I prefer a Matte foundation

Chanel perfection lumiere velvet or loreal infallible are good natural matte finish foundations. The Chanel one needs a primer. I use Smashbox light primer (better for sensitive skin than the original one. )

Good and thorough cleansing, followed by regular moisturising should help a lot. Weekly scrub and face mask a good idea too if you can set aside the time. Maybe visit a cosmetics counter to try brands and shades of makeup, and you might be able to have makeup done to to give you ideas.
