I love suede jackets but I'm not overly keen on biker style as I have a wider top half so they don't suit me. This has a central zip so looks neater.

Opinions please?

It's not for me. The jacket looks a bit confused, almost like it's not sure what it's supposed to be.

pinkieandperkie · 19/09/2016 12:06

I like itSmile

3perfectweemen · 19/09/2016 12:15

It's really nice! Go well with jeans and boots :)

PaperdollCartoon · 19/09/2016 12:17

I think it's nice, manages to be quite smart and casual for a leather jacket. I think you could style it quite a few ways.

sophiestew · 19/09/2016 12:17

I really like the jacket, although I don't like the colour. I would go for the black.

Talisin · 19/09/2016 12:26

Not generally keen on bombers but that one's lovely.

LoveYouSweetheart · 19/09/2016 12:27

It's nice jacket but not for me.

BadTasteFlump · 19/09/2016 12:28

I don't like it, sorry. I think you either buy a biker jacket or you don't. This one says to me 'I'm getting on a bit so this is my mum version of a biker jacket' - a bit 'Per Una' if that's a thing...

Runningupthathill82 · 19/09/2016 12:31

This! BadTaste put it far better than I did.

Dancergirl · 19/09/2016 12:56

Oh dear, I definitely don't want the Per Una look!

I actually have a light tan suede biker that I bought in the Hobbs sale a few years ago. It's still got the tags on. I just wasn't sure about the shape on me but it's obviously too late to return now, unless I sell it on Ebay (or wear it!).

Oh well I feel bad now Dancer Sad

If you like your Hobbs jacket you should wear it - I'm not style guru, I just like spouting my opinions! In general I like stuff from Hobbs - whereas Mint Velvet has definitely gone a bit too middle-aged-and-safe IMO...

Floisme · 19/09/2016 14:21

I like it and, if you're worried about it looking dated, I think the bomber shape is arguably more current than biker.

Is it really necessary to use 'mum' and 'middle aged' as a shorthand for safe or unstylish?

Laineymc7 · 19/09/2016 14:29

I really like it go for it if you like it.

TripTrapTripTrapOverTheBridge · 19/09/2016 15:23

I love it and bombers are much more current than bikers. In fact,I rarely see a biker on someone who isn't middle aged (aside from on TV)

You'll look like sarah beeny Grin

Thecontentedcat · 19/09/2016 20:05

Also it is too fitted to be true bomber.

ZaZathecat · 19/09/2016 20:09

I thought I knew what a bomber jacket was until I saw that. What makes a bomber jacket a bomber jacket?

MissLadyM · 19/09/2016 20:12

It's ok but madly overpriced. I would go for a classic leather biker - Mine was £200 but I must have worn it thousands of times and it goes with everything

Thecontentedcat · 19/09/2016 20:23

Fitted waists and cuffs, looser body, usually made of lightweight material. American style. You can't really make a bomber jacket with leather. You can make a flying jacket though! That would be made with sheepskin.

MartinRohdesBellybuttonFluff · 19/09/2016 20:32

I think it's lovely (especially in khaki).

You should dig out your Hobbs one as well and give it a go. Can you post a pic of that one too? (I am being nosy - I love clothes for this time of year when it's starting to get cooler.)

Alli91 · 19/09/2016 20:53

Looks nice. Especially with jeans and heavy military boots.

Dancergirl · 19/09/2016 23:38

Will try and find a picture of the Hobbs one. Can't remember how much it was but it was definitely in the sale.

Maybe I'll buy the MV one to compare, do they ever do discount codes?

OP posts:
ephemeralfairy · 20/09/2016 00:31

Ew. I don't like it at all. And suede doesn't wear so well either.

For that price you should get a classic leather biker jacket which will never look dated and will just get better with age.

RebelandaStunner · 20/09/2016 00:49

I love the colour, but not the style.
Personally I think it's a lot to spend on something you're not sure about.
It could well end up in the back of your wardrobe with the Hobbs one.
