Havaianas Freedom Sandals

I have a pair of havaianas freedom sandals but the ankle strap needs tightening quite a bit and it leaves it too long in my opinion. Has anyone ever trimmed the end on theirs? I've been thinking about it for weeks but am to scared in case they end up ruined. So I've been wearing them a bit loose but feel Iike I'm flopping about in them.

Can you tuck the long bit back in, it sort of loops but looks better than flappy! that's why I do.

however, no matter how often I tighten them, they work loose over a few wears. Do be careful if you trim the that you don't take off too much.

I did try tucking it in but it was sticking out too much maybe I could get some sort of hair elastic/loom band and fashion my own tie thing at the back. I'll have a go tonight and post back if it's a success.
