Wedding dress underwear

I'll probably need "shape wear" fit under my wedding dress. Would you buy it first before you start trying on?

Also any experience of M&S stuff where you can wear your own bra? I've only just seen it and think it would be better than the stuff with the moulded cups.

I mean buy the shape wear before trying on dresses.

I bought a padded strapless bra as I knew I wanted a dress without sleeves. And an assortment of knickers!! Suck in, no vpl full size and no vpl briefs and a thong, and tried them all with the dresses! Ended up with bra and no vpl ones- granny style and whipped them off quickly in our posh hotel room!!

Thanks. A padded bra is not needed - a minimiser maybe!!

I bought my dress then went to get the undies to match. I had a photo, went to Debenhams who found the right fit first and then found pretty stuff that did the job!

You always build starting with the foundations! If you get your undies right so that they give you the best possible shape, the dress on top can only enhance it Smile

I went to Rigby and Peller, near Harrods. I think you can book an appointment. I think I took the corset top of the dress with me. (this was about 12 years ago)

i'd choose the dress first, but thinking about what would be feasible to wear underneath at the same time (discuss with the dress shop if you're unclear!)

You might think you want a straight across strapless, but fall in love with something with a sweetheart neck line, for example. Or a halter neck or a dress with a wide neckline. You don't want to pass over your dream dress because you have already bought a bra that would show underneath Smile
