Classy flat shoes to wear with 'classy' clothes? Do they exist?

BelladiNotte · 18/09/2016 13:32

Help, please!
I've developed a neurological condition, can't walk well, v. Poor sense of balance, think it's permanent, so all my gorgeous heels have to go. Gutted!Shock I SO love my shoes.
So I'm looking for lovely flat shoes with a bit of pizzazz about them. Think I could manage a small wedge for a bit of lift, but nothing more.
Anyone any idea where I can look, first, online?
Really hope someone out there can help.Smile

NB I think that shoes without a heel, like many ballet pumps, and with a very thin sole and little padding, are actually quite uncomfortable. Thick soles are quite fashionable currently and can hide a lot of padding.

minty WOW! Fabulous Jewel-bright colours!!! I'll certainly follow them on Faceache, good tip. Thanks.
(Now back to drool at the colours..)

I've got these:

www.finerylondon.com/uk/products/fawn-leather-sling-back-shoe?taxon_id=12

They are pointy though and while the back strap is thin, it is stretchy.
Not too bad for comfort. Definitely make your feet feel dressed!

BelladiNotte · 18/09/2016 21:05

Arseface (love the nameGrin(, now, those are lovely! And you've hit on the right descriptive phrase I was looking for, too..want my feet to look dressed. And those would.

You're welcome Smile

I love colourful shoes, although I don't dress up much - skinny jeans and flats most days!

botemp · 18/09/2016 21:42

Oldraver, as long as you don't insist on black CO Kitty shoes you can often find them on Yoox at about half off, even less if you keep track of their special promos and codes. Chiara Ferragni do similar fun flats at a 'slightly' lower price point.

I tried these and they're really comfy

CoolToned · 18/09/2016 21:54

Seriously like walking on clouds.

CrepeDeChineWag · 20/09/2016 20:00

Saw these in Sainsburys yesterday which I thought were nice:

I have just got these from M&S in the wine colourway. Going to wear them with rolled up blue and black jeans now then black tights and skirts/dresses or my array of coloured cords & pop socks when it's colder.

(I'm 40 btw - found pictures of v stylish people wearing oxblood colour loafers on Pinterest and this is my attempt to copy them)

Chocolateteabag · 20/09/2016 20:52

I aspire to La Chatelles - perhaps when DC are a bit bigger and I move out of the muddy sticks to pavemented streets

Chocolateteabag · 20/09/2016 20:53

maybe these little leopard numbers with pink tassels??

one day.....

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 20/09/2016 20:54

I've just bought those exact shoes chocolateteabag, just waiting for them to be delivered.

ArieltheMermaid1720 · 20/09/2016 20:56

The M&S ones, though am always a sucker for animal print.

CrepeDeChineWag · 20/09/2016 22:58

M&S ones are lovely and a brilliant price. Are the comfy? FFS! If my 20 year old self could hear me now Grin

CrepeDeChineWag · 20/09/2016 23:00

Also liking those leopard print ones. Colour tassel a very nice touch

TwoWeeksInCyprus · 20/09/2016 23:38

Alwaysmeadulting · 21/09/2016 01:50

Oh my. That shoes of prey website is astonishingly addictive. I have just wasted 2 hours designing shoes I can't afford on itGrin

herecomesthsun · 21/09/2016 03:15

I think I may have metatarsalgia and have tried these on in the green version. They were seriously comfortable with lots of padding, despite the slight heel so I have ordered them. (I quite like the navy though I appreciate they may not be to everyone's taste).

There is a 20% discount with Clarks too with BTS and delivery was free.

Chocolateteabag · 21/09/2016 09:10

I haven't worn the M&S shoes outside yet but they have lots of good reviews and that "insolia" thingy so here's hoping!

EmilyB9 · 21/09/2016 09:55

A bit late into the conversation but I was on the Taylor Blake Facebook page and they have a discount on at the mo. Use code CATCH20 for 20% off x

JaceLancs · 21/09/2016 11:01

I am a size 16-18 but have size 4 feet - ballet pumps rounded toes or loafers look ridiculous on me
Slipper style or pointy toe flats are fine - for cheaper end M & S usually have something comfy I wait until there's a 20% off offer
I also like Dune and Peter Kaiser
TKMaxx always worth a look - I love lots of Eastern European brands can't remember the brands but came back from Poland recently with some stunning flats in unusual finishes

MumboNumber5 · 21/09/2016 13:43

I have these leopard beauties

UnderseaPineapple · 30/09/2016 01:29

I bought the M&S loafers in the wine colour and they've rubbed the skin off my heel :(

1frenchfoodie · 30/09/2016 07:58

Thanks to this thread I now have a shoes lust list, some great recommendations botemp and others. I am rubbish in heels but taking up a far more corporate job in Jan and needing smart flatish shoes to get back into the swing of things after 7 months of maternity leave in trainers and slippers.
