I'm going for an eveing out. A proper one. After years of nothing but Nandos and cineworld. With real adults.

I have nothing to wear.
I do NOT have a big budget but I would like something a bit more grown up than the leggings and smocky shit I usually get.

I'm 5ft5. Size 16. Mummy tummy

Okay this mango dress is very grown up and a bit more expensive but might also see you through Christmas.

I want to stay away from black as I live in it daily and would like sometimes different.

That mago dress is cute nice but its a bit plain?

Thanks for the suggestions so far x

Don't know where the posh restaurant is, but for most London restaurants some of these would be too obviously 'dressy'. But it has emerged on earlier threads that customs on how much to dress up when eating out vary quite a bit across the country.

polyhymnia · 17/09/2016 00:24

Some of them are really weddingy it suites for a formal dinner dance type event.

polyhymnia · 17/09/2016 11:37

Sorry - 'weddingy or suitable for'.
In fact that Evans one looks positively bridal! I'd keep it simple and elegant.

Op, your choices are beautiful but I favour the second one add the print loss v modern. Have a wonderful time!

How about this? Is the neck wrong? There seem to be a lot of high necks out there! I think the tummy detailing would be very flattering and it's smart but versatile.

Does it have to be a dress? What about smart jeans and then you will be able to get a few tops etc? Or smart black trousers? just thinking budget and frequency of wear?

I rate some of the stuff I have found in M&Co - take a look. Not sure what they have in at the moment.
