Do you like this dress?

I have a wedding reception coming up and I have got this dress. It is very different to the kind of style I usually go for - which would be plain and classic. Is it a bit much?

Also, what colour and style of shoes would you wear with it?

Thank you all!

I quite like it, though hard to tell without seeing it on

crje · 14/09/2016 11:40

I love it.

I would go with a black sandal

90daychallenger · 14/09/2016 11:41

Hmmm, it depends what your figure is like and what you wear with it.

If you're slim it'd look great with black patent high heels, a black clutch bag and a victory roll type of hair do.

Otherwise, on a larger lady, I think it could look a bit frumpy. Sorry.

Littlebee76 · 14/09/2016 11:44

Yes altho I'd match the bag and wear nude heels with it Smile

I'll put it on later to show you. Thanks ladies, just off to get some black shoes!

Ok so here is the dress on, what do you think of it on? I have got some gold shoes to go with it - do you think it matches?

Dress looks lovely on you. Not sure about the shoes. Might be nice with a peep toe shoe?

FunkinEll · 14/09/2016 13:37

I like the dress on but I'd go with different shoes. Perhaps black sandals rather than courts.

LimpidPools · 14/09/2016 13:37

I think it's beautiful and certainly no worries about your figure!

I'm not sure about the shoes though. I think you need something more understated. Probably black patent as a pp suggested.

LimpidPools · 14/09/2016 13:38

Ooh peep toe!

plimsolls · 14/09/2016 13:39

I think it looks brilliant (and you also look brilliant).

I rather like the gold shoes with it. Looks modern and fresh.

Littlebee76 · 14/09/2016 13:44

No to the shoes, dress looks lovely tho. I agree about peeptoes!

90daychallenger · 14/09/2016 13:48

Wow, you look great in that dress.

I really hate the shoes. They feel a bit 80s but not in a cool retro way, more of a digging around the back of the wardrobe for anything remotely dressy way. Sorry.

Patent black peep toe heels are the way to go for me. And patent clutch bag.

The dress has a very wiggle dress feel to me so I'd definitely go for a victory roll hair do!

likethedress · 14/09/2016 13:52

Thanks for all the replies. I had a look at roll hair do's as I wasn't sure what that was and think it would look good. However, I have a bob just below the chin! Any other ideas for styles?

Thanks for all your advice, I will ditch the shoes and get black Smile

Love the dress, shoes are fine but probably a bit too gold for my tastes.
Straps high heels would be best.

Tantpoke · 14/09/2016 13:54

Strappy

alli1968 · 14/09/2016 13:56

love the dress - you look great in it - maybe some kate middleton style nudes would be an option? prob in the sales now too!

SinglePringle · 14/09/2016 14:05

You have a great figure but I really don't like the dress. I think the neckline is too high on you and the capped sleeves cut your arms off at the top (and you have good arms).

GingerbreadCake · 14/09/2016 14:20

I like it id wear it with black patent leather sling back shoes and a black pashmina to keep it elegant.

likethedress · 14/09/2016 19:06

I have ordered some cream strappy shoes and black strappy shoes and will decided which looks best.

Thank all!
