Looking for mid-calf boots that don't look massive on my legs

I am cursed with size 8 feet but size 5-6 calves, which means that most mid-calf boots look like boats on my legs! Anyone else have this dilemma? And where do you shop?

I had a pair of boots from Clarks 4 years ago that were perfect but they've now got holes in the toes and I really ought to chuck them out. Kicking myself for not buying 2 pairs at the time!

Ted and Muffy - used to be DUO. You order your calf size and shoe size combination. Spendier than Clarks though.

If Schuh still sell Red or Dead boots, they're very skinny!

PNGirl, I did see a nice pair on their website but it was a bit beyond my budget. Got a pair of Ted & Muffy ankle boots from TK Maxx recently - a bargain at £29.99!

I have skinny legs and got a Red or Dead pair from Schuh! Like Witch says. They look good.
