'Puffy ' warm coats that don't make you look like Michelin man??

I am really considering buying a cream puffy coat from North Face but I'm held back a little as I am afraid to look like a Michelin man !! Are they too bulky and warm ?
Any other recommendations at all before the weather starts going down hill ??
Cheers

Uniqlo Ultra Light Down looks less of a Michelin man on. :)

I bought one (not North Face) and found it left my hair full of static. I had to always tie my hair up when wearing it. Apparently this can be a common problem.

I'd try uniqlo; I don't know about their adult ones but the kids ones are fantastically thin and light but (l'm told) incredibly warm. Tho of course this season is all about the more Michelin man the better (or at least according to the Guardian on Friday it is)!

I've got the Uniqlo stretch ultra light down and it's so warm. I'm fat, but I don't feel like Michelin man in it. I prefer the stretch version as it has a cotton-y feel to it instead of shiny.

Mine has a belt which I think helps - Aigle Cuckmere, if they still do them. Expensive, but will hopefully last me years and years (will be 3rd or 4th winter and it looks like new still).

If you want down, but less bulky, Google "micro down". Less off it, so less warm, but down is still warm IYSWIM. Coats with chevron baffles/panels can be a bit nicer too.

I quite like this

Lipsy have a great belted one at the moment with a fur trimmed hood. I'm desperate to get it but currently live in a hot climate and no idea where we are moving next!

If I lived in the UK, it would be mine.
