Sizing - Hush and Uniqlo

The dream dress that I have created in my imagination is just that. So I think the closest I can get is a Hush ruched skirt and a Uniqlo draped tshirt. I am 5,7 and a 14 bottom and 16 top due to boobage not general girth. What sizes should I order? And any discount codes or free delivery offers on the go? TIA

Hush - size large.
Uniqlo tops are SMALL. I got a size 12 base layer. I'm a 10-12 top. Gave it to my daughter who is a 6. It's loose but not oversized.

wowfudge · 10/09/2016 19:44

What about the Hush Tara dress? I've got one in size 14, it's true to size from the guide on the website. Try 14 and 16. Where are you? They have some pop up stores in John Lewis at the moment.

Have been eyeing up Hush Tara, have a bit of a tum , does it skim over or cling?

I've got the hush ruched skirt. I'm a bit bloated at the mo, and have a tummy anyway. I'm usually a 14 in jersey type stuff and order the XL and I think it's a bit on the genourous side. I bought a 16 in a wrap top (non jersey) and I think the sizing is bigger than expected.

Rinceoir · 10/09/2016 20:13

I'm a 12 on top with 30F bust, and have 3 medium draped t-shirts from uniqlo, with plenty of space in them.

wowfudge · 10/09/2016 20:18

The skirt part clings, but the ruching is very flattering and the top blouses over the tummy area.

FlamingoFling · 10/09/2016 20:22

Hush comes up big I'd order a size down.

For a 14 you'd need a medium

QueenSpartacusOfTheAndals · 10/09/2016 20:27

I tried on the Hush Tara last week and it was dreadful. The bottom half fitted well but the top was way too baggy and shapeless. On me anyway!

Oscha · 10/09/2016 20:32

I have the ruched skirt in an XL and I'm a 16-18.

BWatchWatcher · 10/09/2016 20:47

I am a 12-14. I bought the M and L hush ruched skirt. The Medium went back. Large is your best bet, otherwise it will ride up.

Whenwillwe3meetagain · 10/09/2016 20:48

Have you looked at Baukjen?

Lidlfix · 10/09/2016 21:00

I have, there seemed to be lots of body con and revealed shoulders. Yet, I received a catalogue in spring that seemed much more day to day wear. Is the website rather restricted?

Do any of you helpful folks know if all John Lewis have pop up Hush as I'm in Scotland and sometimes well Birmingham is considered north and I'm a "wildling beyond The Wall"?

Order both sizes and send the one that isn't right back?

Serenite · 10/09/2016 21:11

Reading with interest as I'm planning on getting the Tara dress and the skirt. I'm a 10/12 - what size do you think?? I'm on the lookout for discount codes but it's not looking likely apart from the £10 off one from another thread....suppose I could try doing separate orders, different emails but turn same delivery address so don't know if that's worth the bother. Am excited to see what they'll be like, seem to be very stylish but a bit marmite. Intend to order next week so hopefully they won't sell out. Which colour are you going for? And which top from uniquo, never had anything from there but people on s&b seem to rave about it. I need a down jacket with a hood too.

Talisin · 10/09/2016 21:30

Currently there are only three John Lewis concessions, two in London and one in Birmingham. A third one is due to open in Chelmsford at the end of the month and a fourth one in Leeds sometime in October.

Sendraboots · 10/09/2016 21:34

hush large uniqlo large or xl. Hush have a £10 off voucher for new users if you want me to post code dm me!

AgedRelative · 10/09/2016 21:44

I'm a 10 and took delivery of the Tara dress and skirt today. Both small. Perfect fit. I am small of nork and quite straight up and down. The Tara dress is so flattering.

wowfudge · 10/09/2016 23:19

I am between Hush's size guide measurements for their 12 and 14 sizes so I bought a 14 on the basis that a bit too big looks a lot better than a bit too tight and is more comfortable too.

wowfudge · 10/09/2016 23:20

Ah - if the Tara is in S, M, L I bought the medium. Must have been a Baukjen skirt I bought in a 14.

BikeRunSki · 10/09/2016 23:24

Looking forward to the one in Leeds, even though Leeds hasn't actually got a John Lewis yet!

Judydreamsofhorses · 10/09/2016 23:35

I'm a 10/12 but quite hippy - I got M in the skirt and it's perfect. This code will give £10 off but only if you use an email address that's not registered with them:

hush.mention-me.com/me/referee/registerko/4186934/23140093/e/8c0938a93ec266ca351c79e47aa63a70a85016a3/fe/cw

Re Uniqlo, I bought a load of the heat-tech tops last winter and found they came up really big - I ordered medium and actually sent them back for small. I'm generally a 10 on top, but did want them neat for layering under things.

Talisin · 10/09/2016 23:45

Well Hush seem convinced they do. Actually a quick google tells me that a new one will be opening at Victoria Gate 'in the autumn'.

BikeRunSki · 11/09/2016 08:01

Oh yes, I know Talisin 😄, I have been eagerly anticipating it for years, it's under construction, the Hush pop up shop is a sign raft it'll be opening soon!

Lidlfix · 11/09/2016 09:43

Thanks for advice and discount code. I have ordered black skirt and green dress both in large. Looking forward to trying them on and will report back Smile
