Babyliss big hair - just killed my third one

I love my babyliss big hair. They have transformed my life and made my frizzy and thick hair look lovely on a daily basis. But I have just killed my third one. It has developed a horrid whine and is refusing to turn. This always seems to happen after about a year.

Does this happen to all of them? Is there something else I could try that does the same thing?
I like the babyliss because it basically does all the work for me - I have never been able to get the hand of using a brush in the same rotating way myself.
Do I buy number four or is there another solution?

Don't buy number 4! Babyliss are good at replacing them if the motor dies. Try them before buying a new one.

But I can't find the receipt - will they still replace?

Mine died after a yr and I didn't have a receipt. Rung the customer services dept and there is a ref no on the handle, they use this to check it's still in warranty. They replaced mine very quickly. Good luck. I love mine but will be replacing mine with something else. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've had 3 die on me too. I bought a similar one from John Frieda as it was half the price and it does just as good a job.

I have had the Boots own brand one for about 30yrs! Can't get on with the Big Hair one.

I just really need something for my hair because it looks awful frizzy so was considering calling into the shopping centre on my way home.

Watching with interest, the motor on mine has just gone so it only spins one way.

Mine stopped turning so I gave it a good clean. I some how managed to tease out quite a few hairs which had found their way inside the cylinder and stopped the motor from turning. It's been fine since.

Mine has just died too, after about 2 years of not particularly hard use.

I'm on my third one, they die just after the warranty expires.

Oh I'm on my third. They just go pfft and that's the end of them. They just do.
But they are v good at replacing them. Hang on to your receipt. As we all know, receipts are hard to keep in any sort of organised fashion so I have a cunning plan. What I do is stick the receipt on to the box and fling carefully place the box with stuck-on receipt into the deepest darkest Narnia depths wardrobe. When it goes pfft it's easy enough to find a box in a wardrobe.

Having said all that, I think even without a receipt, Mr. Babyliss are good at replacing.

How do you tease out the hair when they stop turning? My second one has just started turning really slowly. I've had it a while but not used it much, so frustrating!

I always put receipt in box and then keep the box under the bed. None of mine have lasted 12 months yet.

TBH I have learnt to realise when its starting to 'get tired' and is ready to die, I took the last one back a month before the warranty ran out even though it hadn't given up completely as knowing my luck it would pack up a week after the guarantee expired !

Doesn't look like you can get the Boots one anymore but there are a few on their site that are only around £30. I find them easier to use when they don't spin around when you are using them.
