Wedding outfit. Honest options please

Blatantly fell in love with skirt someone posted last week. Ordered. But I'm just not sure. Was thinking black top but not this one. Feel like shape make hips and shoulders look huge.

I think this looks gorgeous. Very small photo and not great light but I think this is lovely.

I think the skirt looks too straight and needs something to make it look more round/pouffy.

It's from Reiss. Might look at a wee underskirt thing... Although that would make hips look even bigger

I loved that thread too . Skirt looks great, I don't think you necessarily need an underskirt. Is it sitting on the narrowest part of your waist? It looks a tiny bit low, you might be able to size down?

Looking at the photo I couldn't quite figure out what wasn't working and I think you're right: the shoulders are wider than the (lovely, slender) hips.

So I agree that a fuller, pouffed out, bigger volume skirt would balance out the shoulders. You really have nothing to worry about re wide hips!

Also not a big fan of black top/white bottom, especially for a wedding. I'd wear something either skin tight and pale on top, or a sequined/ heavily embroidered draped top that stops at the waist.

I have a cream v neck silk vest and s shirt, otherwise I'll hit the shops and see what I can find. The skirt is a Kinda pale green I think, so I don't want to introduce too many colours!

Black top felt a bit matronly and dull agreed!

Hips are definitely not wide! Agree top needs to be more fitting, I think it doesn't look quite right because the top poofs you out from the waist up. A tighter top would show waist off more I think. Lovely skirt though!

A shell top with short sleeves would look great. What about this from Coast?

I think the black looks good, the waistline is black isn't it?
Maybe it looks heavy because it needs narrower straps and a scoopier neckline. I'm a similar height/size to you and this shape works for me when tucked in.

I love the skirt but you're right about the top not working. Perhaps nothing tucked in - something skimming the top of the waistband?
