HELP! I am sick of living in skirts and leggings because this is all that will fit me, what i can get over my rather large arse and hips gapes on the waist. I am short at around 5ft 2in and a size 12/14 bottom and 10/12 top. I love the skinny jean look but bloody hell i cannot ever ever find a pair that fit me well. I am currently wearing a pair of jegging types from River Island that make me look like i am wearing a nappy, baggy around the waist & crotch & tight on the bottom.

Does what i am looking for not exist? I am soon to be separated from my H and want to start feeling good about myself (and wearing EXACTLY what i like) but jeans/trousers always elude me. Any curvy women out there that know the secret?? I wouldnt mind spending up to £100 on a decent pair.

TIA

So is your waist a size smaller than your hips?

mrsnec · 04/09/2016 06:35

You might think they're a bit frumpy to look at but I'm that size and love per una Roma jeans. Also Peacocks 24/7 skinnies. I've tried premium brands and none of them fit .

You simply need a decent seamstress. Or ask in a good dry cleaner for someone who does alterations. Buy jeans to fit perfectly up to and including your hips, the waist can be taken in no problem. The pockets will appear to be placed slightly wider apart but should not be very noticeable and your fit will be perfect.

Have you tried the Levi Bold Curve jeans? I think they are cut with exactly this is mind.

Yes my waist is small and stomach flat but I have a sticky out fat bottom (all my weight goes straight there) and wide hips. Jeans always seem to make me look much bigger being short too. The Levis look perfect & the suggestion of a good seamstress is something I hadn't thought of. Many thanks Flowers

I'm the same shape and height as you.
I wear harem trousers from next in petite.
I also wear ankle jeans from gap or surprisingly Tesco jeans are quite good.
I don't have a big budget and can get quite fed up of trying jeans on.
Top shop jeans were awful on me.

Levi curve jeans look ridiculous on me & I have similar dimensions. They just emphasised how curvy I am & still didn't fit around the waist!
My solution for skinny jeans now is to buy cheap jeggings with elasticated waists, wear them until they go saggy & then buy another pair. It's bad for the environment but at least it solves the nappy look problem.
