Returning an item past the return period

Has anyone done this?

I have an item for return in ASOS that I forgot about.

It's now a week past the return period. If I return it, will they send it back if they don't accept it?

They'll probably accept it. Maybe give them a call first?

They will almost certainly accept it anyway, I've sent a few things back now late through total absent-mindedness and haven't had an issue. Would do it ASAP though. Also if you can send it via collect plus they seem to get it back quicker so that might help.

I have sent things back to very a month or two late - I totally forgot about them. Only on one occasion to be honest. If they are in the original packing it should be ok.

Rarely an issue.

I returned a load of Next stuff a good couple of weeks late (because it arrived just before our holiday, and I didn't get it back in time) and they took it back without a murmur.

What are they going to do? Refuse it and send it back to you?

Should be fine with Asos. As above - it'd cost them to send it back so ime they just give you the refund. Exception is Zara, where you have to get an authorization code in order to make a return, and if the deadline for return is past, computer says no. No doubt others use this dastardly technique as well, but they're the one who springs to mind.

Ooh, I always wondered why Zara had that strange and tortuous returns process. Now it makes sense!
