Nail experts - any advice?

Have put polish on my nails for the first time in 25 years, and I love it. But I've cocked up my right hand so have got finger printy smudgy mess on that side. Is it worth just painting some more coats on top, or do I take it off and start again?

Start again! It will end up uneven and lumpy and chip very easy.

Start again I'm afraid otherwise it will look lumpy bumpy!

Just fab tho, always thought the darker colours would be hard to wear but I've got a dark steely/bluey grey and it's so flattering
