Smart casual showerproof Autumn jacket?

Anyone seen or bought anything nice?

I've loads of outdoorsy type waterproof jackets from north face etc., but could do with something smarter to wear with jeans etc. around town or on dress down Friday's at work. Something quite fitted would be ideal and I think I like the idea of slightly quilted, but it it's not a deal breaker. Just for Autumn (and Spring) so don't need to fit chunky jumpers etc. underneath.

I live in Scotland so showerproof would be handy!!

I don't think I'll ever find the perfect jacket Grin. But I'm lurking in case this thread helps.

I want exactly the same.

Saw this online - advertised as showerproof:

I don't generally suit belted but might try it t

Landsend usually seems to have something and this year even they have caught the drearies...

PickAChew · 02/09/2016 21:57

Seasalt are more on the neat and tidy side, but still properly waterproof.

I like that they have poppers to tighten the cuffs, rather than bloody scratchy velcro, like typical outdoor wear, too.

Landsend coats always puzzle me because they never have hoods!

This might work

I like seasalt

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/09/2016 07:27

Thanks all. I've had a look at seasalt - they're all a bit more on the casual side for what I'm looking for and I'm already well covered in that department. And I'm definitely looking for a jacket rather than a coat.

I think I quite like this. Any thoughts or other suggestions?

I'm not a fan of parkas at all I'm afraid!

A small neat Barbour e.g. International fits what you just described?

I bought my DD what was described as a fisherman's jacket from urban outfitters to wear to school in the rain - you can imagine how often she bothers to wear it. I actually really like it though and borrow it if I need a raincoat that doesn't look as if I am just off on a hike. Should say that it is not a yellow one though!

GettingScaredNow · 03/09/2016 08:26

Sea salt never have my size in sale items [sob]

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/09/2016 08:33

The one I was looking at was a Barbour mysteryfairy! I'll have a look at the one you mentioned.

I can highly recommend Joules for their waterproof/showerproof macs - I bought the Raina one and love it! Roomy enough to wear a fleece underneath when it gets cold too. Can't seem to find a link for the exact one, but if you look at Joules "Raina" raincoat you'll get the idea! Good luck - took me ages to find one I liked!

www.joules.com/Womens-Clothing/Jackets-Coats

You're welcome.

Ethel Austen also had a shower proof jacket in a joules style in a pattern similar to last season. X

Thanks firsttimemum15. The Raina is a bit too coat/Mac like for what I'm looking for, but I did find this on the website which would be worth trying on (and cheaper than Barbour!)
