Please help me find a wedding dress

Hopefully a few of you are up for a challenge Grin

I am a pear shaped size 16 with a very heavy bottom half. My top half is ok but at least a size smaller and my arms are a bit chunky so I think sleeves would be a good idea.

I have a typical English Rose complexion, very dark hair and pale but red toned skin.

I'm getting married in October in southern Spain so it will be warm but not too hot. It doesn't have to be a traditional dress but something special.

My budget can be as high as £500 but ideally something nearer £200.

Any ideas?

Needle and Thread. Excellent quality / price bridal gowns.

Have you looked at asos / phase eight / monsoon / debenhams?

romanvilla · 01/09/2016 20:22

This is a bargain

but you'd have to try it on, it might look like a nightie.

or this is gorgeous. O/S online but I bet JL could find one

Grecian

OlennasWimple · 01/09/2016 20:28

You might want to ask MNHQ to get this moved over into Style & Beauty Smile

imsorryiasked · 01/09/2016 20:32

Have a look at these from Lindy Bop

OlennasWimple · 01/09/2016 20:37

Short sleeves but the embroidered top should help "balance" you out, and the cut out back will prevent it being too hot

It isn't in style and beauty? It says it is this end. How odd.

How about something like this from notonthehighstreet?

Fromsqualorwithlove · 01/09/2016 21:16

I love the look of the needle and thread dresses.

I like the not on the high street dress too. Not sure if it's a little too fussy for me though.

I love Lindy Bop dresses too but I hate my legs so I think I'd feel better in something longer.

They do say a fussier top half balances out a pear shape, which is why I linked it Smile

OlennasWimple · 01/09/2016 22:08

Sorry, this is in S&B (was posting on two wedding dress threads simultaneously and got mixed up Blush)

IntelligentPutty · 01/09/2016 22:56

Take a look at kittyanddulcie.com
Got my wedding dress from there (pearly queen) felt like a million dollars. Great for the hotel small wedding we had. But they do longer styles too.
And some lovely real pics on the website. Prices between 250 and 500.

Have a look at Wed 2 b if you have one nearby.

FitbitAddict · 04/09/2016 17:18

Kitty and Dulcie only go up to a size 14 though.

Pinkcadillac · 04/09/2016 18:43

It sounds as if we might be body twins OP! I've just bought this to get married in this October. I have left it very late!

It's quite nice and flowy, although very long. I am 5 ft 6 and even with 5 inch heels on it's too long, so I'll have to have it taken up. No sleeves I know, but worth a look perhaps.

thegoodnameshadgone · 04/09/2016 18:54

I had mine made online after I'd picked it. Ordered it two inches bigger all over and had a seamstress alter it. I was five months pregnant at the the. She added a couple of bits and changed it ever so slightly.
