Blundstone boots

I quite fancy a pair of these, but really need to see them and try them on before spending so much money.

Does anyone have a pair? Do you recommend? Are there any stockists in London?

I have some! Love them. DH bought them for me in Oz though. I have the 500 in walnut brown. They are very easy to break in and very comfortable. No idea about shops but lots of online availability and size guides available on their own website. Get some!

They are not "dressy", although I'm sure some people wear them with dresses. Blundstone originated as a workwear brand and these are sturdy, practical boots. They are great if you are outdoors a lot e.g. dog walking, but whilst you could wear them wherever, they are a bit overkill if you just want some chelsea boots for wearing around town.

Lots of places stock them, including Amazon, but Toast might be a good place, either in store if you have one, or their online service is very good.

There's a Toast in Islington, they had them last year and I suspect will stock them this autumn too.

I have a pair in black and I love them. I do wear them with skirts and dresses, it's a look that I like but appreciate its not for everyone, the shoes are quite clompy.

I love them, and have had different pairs on the go for about 20 years! I wear them with jeans, cords, chinos, casual skirts, pretty much everything other than formal wedding/work outfits. They are my "go to" footwear. Super comfy. Last about 5 years of heavy use, and can be resoled. Sizing is a bit on the large size, and the half sizes are the same length as the whole sizes, but wider. Often to be found significantly cheaper on Amazon; my last pair was £70 instead of £120.

I think the Natural Shoe Store might stock them.

I had s brief foray into Duckfeet boots, but ran (skidding) back to Bkundstine after a year or so.

I have a pair - they are in my garage as I wear them for gardening. Are they back in fashion? I got mine about 20 odd years ago. I might dig them out and clean them up! Yes they are very comfortable and quite chunky.

I agree that if it's your 'look' you can totally style out Blunnies with skirts, just not for a garden party. Get some!

I've been wearing El Naturalista shoes/ boots/ sandals for years, so am used to fairly bulky footwear.

I cycle and walk a lot, although live in a city, so think these might fit the bill for practicality which looks reasonably stylish.

Are they similar bulk to Dr Martens, for example?

The Doc Martens chelsea boots? Yes, they are similar bulk-wise (in fact my Blundstones replaced a pair of Docs after they died last winter), but I think the Blundstones are a tiny bit wider around the ankle.

I's say that Blundstones are slightly more slimline than DMs.

Blundstones are practical work boots but not remotely stylish. They're in the Ugg camp: the wearer is a fashion victim.

The same could be said for DMs, Timberland and Caterpillar boots.

I dislike shoes that some may consider highly stylish and not remotely practical. Each to their own.
