non matte face powder. is there such a thing?

I use a dab of translucent powder over my under eye conceler but no matter which one I use, it always looks too matte. I know matte everything is popular these days but I don't want part of my face to look matte.
I don't want a luminous highlighting powder, just something in between that is more satin. Any ideas? (Must be from a cruelty free brand).

Lily Lolo do a satin effect loose finishing powder that I love. BUAV approved and 90% of the products are vegan according to their website.

Hourglass ambient powder claims to be cruelty free. It's very flattering and non matte. I had to travel a bit to sample it though!

Agree Hourglass, but wasn't sure about cruelty free so hadn't posted before. The Bourjois one is meant to be a bit of a dupe though!

CoolToned Me too! I am down to the dregs in my Ambient Lighting Palette and I CANNOT find my full sized one. Is there some kind of Hourglass thief at large?

Nabootique - there must be! I swear, I placed it inside a bag. And now I can't remember which bag. I checked all over and I can't find it anywhere! I'm thinking of buying a new one but well, it's expensive. :P The one I cannot find is probably still around 90% full.

Thank you for the suggestions. The only one of those I'm sure is really cruelty free is lily lolo. Unfortunately everything I've bought from there in the past has brought my skin out in an itchy rash. I went into a debenhams today hoping to try too faced or illamasqua but apparently I'd have to buy it online. Not sure that's a good idea as I'd like to feel it first.

The Bourjois one is nothing like Hourglass - it's nice but white!

Bobbi Brown have got an illuminating powder and one of the Superdrug brands (I can't remember the name) have dupes of the Hourglass ambient lights. Illamasqua ones get fab reviews as well.

This is the Bobbi Brown one.

Nyx Stay Matte But Not Flat powder. It's starting to get wide distribution now. Cruelty free.

I have it and really like it as it's not chalky.

Or Mac Mineralise skin finish natural powder is the same but pricier. I'm pretty sure Mac is cruelty free, right?

Hourglass ambient light powder. It's my most favourite makeup item EVER. Not a highlighter, not mat. Magically gives me cheekbones and a nice nose and you just have to dust it on with zero skill or precision whatsoever. It's a bit high end but worth every penny. (No I don't work for them)

The nyx one I found is a powder foundation. Could I put that over concealer and foundation without looking cakey?

I've got an old corn silk one but that also seems to settle and look flat (then turn orange these days, like most other things Angry).

Where would I buy the hourglass one? Are they an independent company does anyone know or is it a brand name of something else?

I bought a couple of soap and glory bits today but didn't see any powder. Buggerit. I hate shopping.

OP, if it's just for under eye, ELF do one called HD undereye setting powder, which is the best I have tried (& I've tried lots) AND it's cheap as chips.

It doesn't settle into wrinkles (if you have any), and is fantastic.

It even gets a good score on Makeupalley!

Yes, I'm developing wrinkles Sad I think that's why I'm struggling to feel comfortable with my face as last time I overhauled my skin care and make up my skin was great. The last 2 years must've been bloody hard work if my face is anything to go by. Eyes not wrinkly yet but around my chin there are some bizarre lines. I don't like them at all.

I've just ordered one by Gosh, a brand I'm usually pleased with. I'm using their foundation drops at the moment and they're fantastic so I've ordered the mineral powder in the same shade.
also going to have a nose on E.L.F. any other stuff from there anyone recommends?

I completely relate. Up until a few years ago, all I used was Johnson's powder. Recently I tried using that and it somehow made my look dry. Ah, age.

Hopefully I'll find my Hourglass powder!
