For someone with a 'quirky' (bleurgh) sense of style but history of occasional questionable taste.

Dress.

I'm drawn to it. But I suspect most people will think it's minging.

I'm a size 12, post DC belly but fine with good pants, good everything else.

Quite pale but bit of a tan at the minute and suit high contrast(so either black or vivid jewel toned clothing, strong lipsticks).

Is it awful?!

I think it's beautiful.

candykane25 · 25/08/2016 22:17

I think you know don't you...

Cookingongas · 25/08/2016 22:18

I like it. But I don't think I'm in a position to judge any style choice tbh

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 25/08/2016 22:18

It's not half as bad as I expected after reading your OP.

winewinewhine · 25/08/2016 22:19

I love the print but hate the hemline.

MoreGilmoreGirls · 25/08/2016 22:19

I think fugly, sorry

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2016 22:20

I like the print, and don't mind the hem, but suspect the fabric won't be v nice.

NotTodaySatan · 25/08/2016 22:20

Ha I suspect your replies are going to mirror my internal dialogue 😂

wine dare I say that even though I've never worn something with that type of hem I thought it looked almost......Westwood-ian? Probably not.

pictish · 25/08/2016 22:20

On balance it's ok...if anything I think it's a bit nothingy. I was expecting something quite ehhh or ooooh. It doesn't stand out to me.

Tiggeryoubastard · 25/08/2016 22:22

Love it but for the hemline.

NotTodaySatan · 25/08/2016 22:22

pictish I though everyone would say it was too loud/busy!

Oh and if anyone can find me another, nicer 'quirky' dress for less than £40 I'd be eternally grateful Wine.

Blackberryandapplejam · 25/08/2016 22:24

I like it. And may well buy it too.

Queenbean · 25/08/2016 22:26

It's neither here nor there. I wouldn't vomit if you wore it and walked past me in the street but I wouldn't be creaming myself over it either.

Don't like the hem though. If you like it then go for it. It's not offensive.

Boltonlass1972 · 25/08/2016 22:30

I like it and would wear it but I thought hanky hems were 'so 3 years ago darling' ?

NotTodaySatan · 25/08/2016 22:32

Bolton I've no idea what was in and when to be fair. I just buy what I like. When I'm capable of making a decision that is.

I was trying to branch away from my going out uniform of 1940's tea dress (NOT those Lindybop numbers, proper tea dresses) + heels.

Maybe I should stick with it!

OP posts:
Vintagegirl1 · 30/08/2016 18:33

I know you said No Lindybop but I got 2 dresses from there recently which are anazing (and not to fancy dress-ish) sorry I can't do links but one is the Tabby dress got the green) and the other is the Ariel dress (in red) Both are fab on and were sale bargains to boot.

Sootsprites · 30/08/2016 18:34

Love it!

Vintagegirl1 · 30/08/2016 18:34

Sorry didn't answer your question-I think the dress is fugly although I think that brand do occasionally do some nice things.

Floisme · 30/08/2016 19:24

I really like the print and the colours, less keen on the hem but don't hate it. The deciding factor would be the fabric.

Botanicbaby · 30/08/2016 19:31

Agree with most others, print is ok but hate the hanky hemline!

ChicRock · 30/08/2016 19:34

It's fugly.

And 100% polyester.

No.

ErrolTheDragon · 30/08/2016 19:35

Its ok but you might find something else on the new look sale rail (its the only place my DD ever finds a dress she likes)

fruityb · 30/08/2016 19:40

I love it but 100% polyester would be enough for me to turn it down. I can't wear the stuff I might as well wear a bin bag for the sweaty element!

Otherwise I'd have snapped it up I really like it.
