Nursing tops and dresses

So breastfeeding is going really well and I've realised none of my clothes are nursing friendly. I'm currently just wearing vest tops and pulling it down. Which is fine at home but I need something else. Where can I get stylish nursing tops and dresses? Are they always nursing and maternity? Has anyone got any suggestions for "regular" clothes that I can breast feed in?

You can wear the vest under any regular top. Lower vest, pull up top. Much easier/cheaper than buying nursing clothing ime

On Facebook a very popular useful group is "Can I Breastfeed in it UK", lots of ideas!

Thanks! Didn't even think about the top underneath thing and will look at the Facebook page

I did one up one down most of the time, so top layer up, bottom layer down, baby feeds between.

Sometimes I wore a Henley type tshirt (with the buttons halfway down - I think that's what they're called) and would just undo and pull to the side.

Frugi has some nice bits and their sales are good.

The obsession with stripes carries over from Maternity stuff into nursing

Can I breastfeed in it? Link to some really pretty clothes on eBay but they're often in smaller sizes

Yes to vests and another top over it. M&S do really stretchy vests which were great for this.

Otherwise there are a few specific makes with double layers and openings. I got some great cheap basic tops from H&M, and there's a make called Boob. Seraphine does feeding clothes too, if you need something smart.

Also follow dress like a mum on Instagram or on her website.
She posts lots of mom maternity breastfeeding friendly clothes.

I've been breastfeeding for the last 3 years and baggy or even fitted tee over vest works a charm. This has suited all body shapes from pregnant, to wobbly postpartum, to back-to-normal-with-mummy-tummy! However, I did have a few dresses / tops in the earlier days from vertbaudet and mothercare which I found really useful. And I bought a few bits recommended by milkchic for special occasions.

H&M have a few options but I just wore tops/dresses with buttons and undid the buttons when necessary.

I bought dome specialist nursing tops from a brand I don't remember. Pricey and not nice - weirdly bulky and oddly cut. I ended up double vesting it a lot. The breast feeding tops I got from companies that do normal clothes were a bit better. H & M I think. Just a double vented thing in the bust.

WittgensteinsBunny · 25/08/2016 09:36

Ah yes, H&M vests & tees were good too.

I bought a couple of plain feeding vests from Mothercare and wore jumpers or t shirts over the top.
