Hippy princess by Vera wang

splendide · 25/08/2016 08:51

I like Blackberry Bay Jo Malone at the moment but it doesn't really last at all sadly.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/08/2016 09:51

My mainstays:

Lolita Lempicka (First Scent and Sweet)
Jour - Hugo Boss
Eternity Summer - Calvin Klein
Bronze Goddess - Estee Lauder

New favourites:

Beauty - Calvin Klein
Christian Lacroix - Ambre and Rouge, both from Avon, and I think Rouge is a less overpowering dupe of Sweet by Lolita Lempicka

I've tried to like scents from The Library of Fragrance, as there's such a choice and they're good value, but they wear off with a really nasty chemical undertone on my skin.

ArtisanBaps · 25/08/2016 09:55
  1. Random choice from a selection box of four of the Guerlain Aqua Allegorias; the Herba Fresca is my fave.
  2. Spanish Cedar by Czech and Speake. Name and packaging remind me of 70's men's cologne but it's absolutely gorgeous - frankincense/ sandalwood I think.
PinkissimoAndPearls · 25/08/2016 10:52

Beauty I also found that with Library of Fragrance which is disappointing as I really wanted to like them. Jo Malone also doesn't work on my skin, they all smell like air freshener.

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/08/2016 11:01

Pinkissimo, they smell great on the first spray, don't they? I found they weren't too bad on my wrist, although the Gingerbread one went nasty quite quickly even there, but within 20 minutes of spraying them on my neck/chest there was an awful sour smell with little of the original fragrance left. I'm glad it's not just me, and I did try a few just in case I had a dodgy one, but no!

PinkissimoAndPearls · 25/08/2016 11:05

Yes they all smelt chemical once they were on my skin, almost as though they had been stored for years, especially the "fresh air" and "rain" type ones. They smell lovely on DD though. We obviously have weird skin Grin what does Jo Malone smell like on you?

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/08/2016 11:08

Salt Air was another rubbish one, and Pistachio - on me it was more 'Pisstachio'! I agree about the stored for years smell, clearly we're not meant for them - must be all that MN bitterness seeping out of our pores that taints them Grin

I haven't tried any Jo Malone, I want to now though, some of the scents sound lovely but I'd definitely want to try a tester first now, especially as we seem to have the same skin!

PinkissimoAndPearls · 25/08/2016 11:20

Eau de viper GrinWink

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 25/08/2016 11:28

Eau de Viper, from Nette de Maman Grin

LuciaInFurs · 25/08/2016 11:34

Giorgio Armani's Si. It smells amazing.

PeepshowPeg · 25/08/2016 11:39

Tom Ford's Neroli Portefino is my favourite. Not that I have it, I just sneak a spray from a tester when visiting department stores.
When I have money to spare, I'll treat myself.

TealGiraffe · 25/08/2016 11:40

I use flowerbomb in the summer, then as soon as september term starts i'm back on versace crystal noir / jo malone pomegranate noir. Love dark autumn / winter perfumes!

TealGiraffe · 25/08/2016 11:40

I also love tom ford velvet orchid but it ran out and i cant justify splashing out on it! Its already on my xmas list Grin

KoalaDownUnder · 25/08/2016 11:44

Psst...can anyone here tell me the frangipani-est of frangipani perfumes?

If I could smell like pure frangipani all summer, I'd be a happy woman. Flowers

teta · 25/08/2016 12:09

Chanteceille's Frangipani is a glorious rich lush creamy Frangipani. But I must warn you its very expensive .I buy 10 ml decants at a time.

My second choice would be Annick Goutal's Songes EDP which is s!igbtly more affordable but rich and lovely.

Another creamy Frangipani is Ormonde Jayne Frangipani where Linden Blossom is used to elevate the Frangipani to another level.

Finally California Reverie is an absolutely beautiful orange bloissom and Frangipani.

KoalaDownUnder · 25/08/2016 12:47

Thank you so much, teta! Smile
