Ive got to wear a dress. Help!

I only own trousers, I'm going to a formal dinner & really should wear a dress. I have scarred lower legs, so a short dress is out but don't want to wear a ball gown.
I'm size 16/18 big boobs & belly but good bum & shape wise legs are ok. I'm 5'6 ish
I want something stylish & classy but don't want to stand out.
Any ideas please?

Look under petite maxi dresses in ASOS. I know you're not short, but maxis tend to always run long.

They have free returns so you can order loads and just send it all back if you want.

Opaque tights are your friend. They cover scars and blotches and stop you feeling naked. Also hide wrinkly knees.
