Wardrobe revamp

27, mum of a toddler. I need new clothes, posted recently re starting a capsule wardrobe but have realised that a lot of my clothes just need to go. Which leaves me with a wardrobe which is more sparse than capsule.

Really want to ditch buying cheap clothes in the main and focus on quality. Where is good for me to look, as a starting point? I tend to favour clean lines, dislike frills and floral patterns.

What do you like and what likes you, ie flatters your figure.
Are you a trouser, dress, skirt person?

Needs to be machine washable as toddlers have the potential to make you messier than a baby. H&M do some nice basic t-shirts, also do lots of yucky ones.

Feel the fabric and check the seams.

Cos to clean lines normally in a looser fit.
Never reject high street stores, my fav T-shirt is from Warehouse it has lasted years.
Make sure you have enough stuff to last you through bad wash weeks.
Check sales, buy mainly classic. TKMaxx is brilliant, but maybe not with a toddler in tow.
Jaeger, Boden, Hush all have some good stuff.
If you have the room, put your old clothes in a big plastic box under the bed or somewhere and review every 5 months or so. When you are about to put it back in the box for the third time, it is time to charity shop it.

Mostly trousers at the moment, for ease. But I am so bored of just wearing jeans! I have some lovely skirts which I intend to keep and will fit when I lose that last 10lbs.

Happy with high street, it's more knowing where to look for better quality things which will last.

My style is probably more All Saints than Boden in terms of overall look.

I am wardrobe sorting today.
3 dresses in the box, one and a half (that is why it was unworn) out. I don't need any more dresses.
4 skirts to the box, two out, one to charity.

All Saints have a sale on, I love elgar dresses , can be worn long (to knees) or short over skinnies or leggings if you are that way inclined. In winter with wooly tights and a t-shirt underneath or just as is.
If I have a decent stock of good tights, wooly, opaques and semi sheer, I wear dresses more.

Have to do T-shirts next, don't want to, as I know a few old faves have to be chucked.

Things which have been worn and washed are not frumpy and not too fashion victemish.,
All Saints last well, except the very thin t-shirts
Toast, build quality is fab.
Warehouse, pretty impressed, their t-shirts have survived countless washes.
Boden, good for cardigans, lousy for t-shirts, they shrink and go twisty.
Phase eight and monsoon (didn't even know I went in there, scared of the would only wear it at knife point wedding guest look) their knitwear and t-shirts are good quality.
Topshop, hit and miss.
Newlook, ribbed tees have done a remarkable job for their cheapness.
M&S often boring but seem to be reliable quality.
I seem to only wear diesel and jigsaw trousers. They fit (me) they last.
Other jigsaw clothes have lasted well.
Gap 3 tees to the bin they were bobbly and twisted another two of similar age look good as new.

Alis the more I have dug through my wardrobe the more I think it is hit and miss. Rick Owens and VW have lasted well, but I wear them less.
