Black Eyeliner

I'm looking for a black eyeliner that will blend/smudge but don't transfer to my upper eyelid while I'm wearing it. Is there a technique to use to stop this happening with eyeliner? I've tried gels, pencils and powder. I've just tried liquid because I like to blend it and not have a harsh line. Please help!

Do you use an eye primer? It's the only thing I've found to minimise /stop transfer

Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel eyeliner will smudge if you work quickly and then stay absolutely put until you take it off.

I like Lancôme kohl pencils, smudge and blend nicely and I always use an angled brush and dark shade of eyeshadow (brown/black which ever suits the eyeshadow I'm wearing where I'd put eyeliner and then use a kohl pencil over it. This hides any application sins, holds it in place and softens the harsh line Smile

I've been using a kohl and then putting powder over it to get the smudge effect but that's what's been making it transfer I think. I'll maybe need to buy a more expensive kohl. Might try out the Bobbi Brown one as well. Thank you.

Actually...I think I have the gel. Is that the one in the pot?

Yes it is. How do you get on with it?
Have to say though that it does dry out over time so if you haven't used it for a while it's probably better to replace.

I use that sometimes if I want a harsher line but it seems to dry on the eye really quickly. It does seem a bit dry in the pot too. I'll give it another go and replace it if it's still dry. Thanks for the tip.

I use the Rimmel waterproof one which twists up. I use my finger to smudge it and it has never gone on the upper eyelid. Prefer it to the MAC ones I used to use.
I stock up on them when they are 3 for 2 in boots.
